About scoobyjim

  1. thinking of getting one of these for my car, test drove a wr sport at ian greaves a few months back when i was looking for my first scooby and it had the prodrive quickshift fitted and i really liked how short the throw was on it how much for one for my car and wheres the best place to get one? are they easy to fit? cheers.
  2. i just got a set of scott lowe flaps fitted last week with prodrive logo well chuffed with them, cars at falkland getting new 310mm ap's fitted and ferodo ds 2500 at the moment as the discs were needing replaced so thats cost a fair bit, hopefully andy f remap to come and quite fancy a prodrive quickshift fitted and ill be happy.
  3. the thing that is really bothering me though is the fact im going to be out of pocket for the labour to fit something that doesnt fit. im phoning hi spec first thing tomorrow morning to demand money from them for the expense im going to have to pay falkland. will let u know what happens.
  4. yeah thats what i though, ive got full decat. wouldnt want to be running lean/rich.
  5. was also chatting about a remap, they have the ecutek ecu in stock for the 99 scooby, boy was showing me it, said its just a straight replacement for my ecu, no road mapping required? is this right?
  6. ok my 99 classic is fitted with a big brake 4 pot conversion by hi spec which was fitted by the previous owner 5 years ago and the dics needed replaced so i phoned them up and ordered a pair from them quoting the size and order number from the original invoice, 310mm x 28 iirc, they were sent direct to falkland performance centre who were going to fit them this morning along with new ferodo ds 2500 pads, got up early, drove through got there for 9am, they take the disc off, also have to take the seperate bell housings off, turns out the discs are the wrong size!! they sent 300mm not 310mm and they dont fit the calipers/pads, so had to leave the car there, got their courtesy car luckely enough and im going to be out of pocket for the labour they have spent on the car already. checked the invoice and receipt from hi spec which shows the correct order of 310mm so they are at fault, the sales team not in today girl on the phone is getting the correct ones sent but i will be on the phone first thing monday morning to hi spec and i will be demanding they cough up for the labour at falkland due to their error. so for now im stuck with a new nissan micra. not happy.
  7. will they fit the standard spots??
  8. seen a few scoobs with these white piaa covers on the spotlights, they look plastic but not sure. anyway anyone any idea where i can buy them??
  9. just got my scott lowe flaps today bought of a fellow scooby owner. they have all the fittings attached and the metal brackets attached so its just a case of attaching them to the car. whats involved? do i need to drill holes and stuff? i presume the wheels will have to come off as well? im not to good at diy so any help appreciated!! cheers.
  10. any rough ideas on cost??
  11. somehow managed to reverse into a concrete bollard the other day thankfullly the damage is limited to paint. its chipped and has a rough texture where it hit, looks like it needs sanded down first then painted. any idea how much it will cost to get the whole rear bumper painted and where would people recommend around edinburgh area. cheers.
  12. for servicing go to falkland, 30 min drive from edinburgh city centre over forth bridge in glenrothes always excellent service.
  13. i have a 99 classic turbo and was wondering if there would be any benefit from fitting an intercooler from a sti car. are there any gains to be had? is it a more efficient piece of kit than the standard classic intercooler? views much appreciated? oh mods on my car so far are just panel filter and full decat exhaust with remap coming soon. cheers.
  14. Ive had my 99 classic since july and im already bored with the performance. when i bought the car it already had a jr panel filter, a scoobysport decat downpipe and backbox, leda coilovers and hi spec 4 pot big brake conversion and just after i got it i replaced the centre cat with a magnex decat so its now fully decatted. dont get me wrong it goes well and stops well and also handles well but it just isnt fast enough anymore, ive got used to it. so, what should i be looking at doing next and how much of a difference is it going to make to the car and what will it cost me?? it could really do with more torque in higher gears imo when ur just driving along in 3rd or 4th at 30mph it feels a bit lacklustre. so what should i do??
  15. get full decat, ie downpipe, centre section, then when its mot time go to falkland, they will fit a centre section they have made up which has 2 cats, take it across the ind.estate to rjm & sons and pass mot, then back across and get ur decat exhaust fitted again, takes 10mins for them to fit it. all the power gains and no hassle.
