  1. I'm shocked the type r was faster, always assumed the subaru was quicker [:^)]
  2. I know, yours was the first car I saw with one in it [] Not remember me sitting in your motor at Tescos asking you 101 questions..lol
  3. It was nice as they were actually interested in the car, OK it cost them a gasket and 15mins but talking to me about jap motors and fast fords for 5 mins makes for a happy customer and an easy repeat customer.
  4. Big thumbs up for the guys in there [] Just been down in York for a couple of days and on the trip back noticed the exhaust was blowing, looked underneath and stuck my hand round the mid section and yup, puffing away! Popped into National and the guys pointed out that who ever had fitted the HKS had not bothered with a gasket on the middle or backbox section and that both parts were blowing, they popped a new gasket in and sent me on my way. Cost for this, big fat Zero [] Never used them before but will defo go back.
  5. Eh, think it was this dude that made it Kidding aside it's unbranded on the head unit but there is a make on the box, I'll dig it out later on Here's the online manual for it, should give more details. http://www.mckieaudio.co.uk/download/aio650.zip
  6. I'm just back from a few days down in York and whilst down there filled up with "stuff" from a GQ? garage, apart from the fact it cost £1.07 a litre[:@] the car ran like cr*p the whole way back up the road. Although I stopped at a morrisons in Stirling and filled up with their version of 97 for the first time, car seems to love it and it was only .95p a litre []
  7. I just fitted one of these last week http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=9729483851 TV Tuner, AV inputs, DVD player, MP3, AVI and a radio[] Quality was a lot better than I thought it would be for the price and so far very happy with it.
  8. Bad I can't drive it ALL day I can't polish it ALL day I can't modify it ALL day Good Points I get to drive it I get to polish it I can modify it []
  9. Just back from CARS and well chuffed, the car looks fantastic and the end result is very impressive. Big thumbs up from me [] Would post a couple of photos but it's now started chucking it down here [:'(]
  10. I was always under the impression that a turbo timer meant your CAT1 alarm was then null & void?
  11. I've got my car in CARS in camps ind estate, east calder, should be getting it back tomorrow. Seen some of his work and quite impressed and the price was good as well. Paint - front Bumper and sort mounting brackets, Rear Bumper and sort mountings, paint both sides, bonnet vents and colour code door handles. £750! I'll post pics and feedback once I get it.
  12. Small update. Spoke to trading standards and they have said that the issue lies with the PO and the garage, not me. Spoke to the PO who is now saying that it's not his problem. Went back to TS and they have stated that the guy is liable for this as the car was sold not as described and by law the car can be rejected. AWD are going to do a report of their findings and this will go to the PO, if I hear nothing within 14days then back to TS and they will deal with the garage and the PO. Worst of it is that the PO is also supposed to be supplying a fog light surround and washer jets for the P1 bumper, looks like that's going to be a brick wall as well First time in 18yrs I've been stung, thank god the car is such fun to drive, takes the edge off it a wee bit
  13. Kinda blows the old myth "the fastest car in the world is a hire car" theory []
  14. No, you're right, it was the PO that had the work done (supposed work)
  15. But I never actually paid for the work myself it was the PO, I've informed him and he's pretty pissed as he forked out the cash. I'll give trading standards a call anyway to check. And just to highlight, bolts painted up on the covers but paint not even cracked. And the timing belt itself, please note that the text on the belt is not that white, it's the flash that's made it that bright.
  16. Part of the deal I had when exchanging my Supra for the Scooby was that the PO get the timing belt done on the car and this was done the day before the exchange and an invoice was supplied from the garage that fitted it (10 days ago now) HOWEVER Had the scobby at AWD getting a mini service yesterday and asked them to check the belt and guess what......belt hasn't been changed. According to them the other garage have gone round various bolts and put tipex on them and gone to lengths to make it look like a timing belt was done but given that the belt has small cracks on it, tiny bits of fraying and the writing on it is faded it was defo not done 10 days ago, it looks more like the one that was fitted 40k ago (which would correspond with the jap stamp on the cam cover). Funny thing is they have put tipex on all the covers that need to come off but only tipexed the bolts you can reach by hand without taking the rad off, you need to take the rad off to change the belt and you can see that where they have tipexed the lower bolts they haven't even had a socket on them. So my question is, what can I do? I've informed the PO and he's gutted as he did pay £160 to get this done, he has gone and spoken to the garage that fitted it and they say they defo did it and they want me to phone them. Am I just going to have to let this go or is there anything that I can do?

  19. Not as quick as yours though [] Always remember you taking a couple of the MR2 guys out for a spin and the look on their faces when they came back........priceless[]
  20. Just phoned for a quote and whilst the guys were helpful they were £160 more expensive than my current insurers Sky [:^)] Appreciate everyones situation is different but given that they worst thing that can happen here is a sheep stealing your car I was surprised by the quote.
  21. Can anyone recommend an alarm fitter in Livingston or even a mobile fitter that can get me at work or home? Has to be thatcham approved. Cheers
  22. May just do that, beats the hell out of cutting the grass. Cheers. PS, I can see the Bridge from my house 2 []
  23. Thanks for the invite but I'll pass on this one, want to wait till the AWD guys give it the once over before I start running it to far from home. Do you guys have regular meets/runs?
  24. Thanks mate but that's how I've created the post, using the [ img ].....[ /img ] but whenever I post it it gets changed? Gone back and edited it a couple of times but the site keeps changing the code on me!
  25. Hi, My first post on a Subaru forum..eek! Picked up my first ever Subaru the other night after spending a few years toying with them I finally decided to have a dabble. ]Just come from a MKIV Supra N/A, also got a MR2 Turbo and if I'm good the missus lets me play with her MX5 (cracking wee cars). After 48hrs with the WRX I can't sing it's praises enough, I've had a lot of cars in the past but these things are amazing fun (not like you don't already know that!). I got this to tide me over for a couple of months but I can see me keeping it for a lot longer. Got the car booked in to AWD for a small service next weekend and I'll also need some paintwork done on the car as well but so far so good. Sorry need another fix, god bless Fife and it's back roads :-) Cheers Todd
