Del, make sure the gromit that is on the hole for the brakelight wiring isnt leaking, water ingress is common from there. new gromit or plenty silicone lol... hope you get it fixed buddy...

Cylinder nearest your turbo will be the troubled number 3, these fail mainly due to the heat generated from the turbo... I would get it professionally check davie, greers or Duncan @Hypertech should help you out mate.
