vickyk Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Been out in the car today and the Check Engine Light has come on and wont go away, anybody got any ideas what it could be or what I should do , I have checked the obvious things like Oil which is ok, It only had a service 4k miles ago when the cambelt was changed????? []
Pele Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Has yours got a full decat? If so there is a fix for this on your model, called very originally the CEL fix lol....
vickyk Posted May 26, 2007 Author Posted May 26, 2007 HI Pele I was expecting this to happen when changing the uppipe, but i have not yet changed this hence my concerns, I have only decat the down pipe so found this very strange to have suddenley happened. It only came on today and wont go away after turning ignition on and off a number of times I hopes this would clear but it has not.
granby Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 It happens when you change the downpipe to a decat, sometimes it happens straight away and sometimes it takes a while, as Pele said there is a CEL fix you can buy that will sort it out [Y]
mick_weatherill Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 It happened on mine when i decatted the down pipe i got the cel fix done at xtreme scoobies .It dont take long to do ..phone no 01245 363623. P.S it happens when you do the up pipe aswell []
Herman Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 If your worried it might not be that, loonybin has a fault code reader, that will tell you what it is and can turn light back off. Can ask him to drop you a pm if you like!
SCOOBYTOO Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 at some time with either the down or up pipe decatted you will need the CEL fix done. there are one for each sensor. save time and money and get them done together. extreme can do both, and it doesn't take long either.
vickyk Posted May 27, 2007 Author Posted May 27, 2007 Thanks eveyone at least that reassures me that nothing major is wrong
