Question Regarding Seat's?

I am possibly exchanging my seats on my 01WRX they are the sport's type with side airbags,i just want to know if i can just remove them without any problem's or are there any sensor's that i need to know about ?

think airbag system is self testing so removing airbags would throw up warning light. dont know whether the remaining ones would work in the case of an impact or not, if youre replacing them with seats that have airbags too there should be no bother. airbag electrics are all yellow.
