wedmonds1 Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Any boys or girls got this installed? I have read a few things about it in the past and i was thinking about getting it.... Who is our resident reliable Blackjax installer?
HOL Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Yup, Ive got one in mine. It came as part of the full clifford system I had fiited the week I got it. It does work, ask anyone who was in the car park at the last curry night!

wedmonds1 Posted April 19, 2007 Author Posted April 19, 2007 Where did you get it fitted mate? Local, what sort of cost to buy and fit and i looking at?
wedmonds1 Posted April 19, 2007 Author Posted April 19, 2007 Its an anti car jacking device.... Lots of information on the web about it if you do a search under clifford alarms. You basically tap in a code to disable it when you get in the car and if you open the car door while the engine is running. If you dont (or you car is stolen or jacked) the would be thief drives of down the road and then 60 seconds later the car effectivley breaks down with lights and alarm flash!. Thief runs of, cannot get near you because you are out of harms way and then you just walk down the road and collect your car. Well, that the plan.
craigy Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 oh im with ya i had this option offered to me wen i got my clifford package , i was told that each plug in would cost 120 squid so i went for the remote start , auto window rollers, turbo timer , and auto turn on lights.thing is im not sure how many plug ins i can have , reason i dint get this option is 1. i had my rubbish standard rims on at the time . 2. decent locking wheel nut work do the job , as i live in a quiet area craigy

What have your wheels got to do with it? [:^)]
baser999 Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 Sadly, locking wheel nuts didn't do that scooby driver at Donnington a lot of good.....although I suppose they didn't steal his motor, at least left him the chassis poor bas*tard

Guest leebo77 Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 Hi Craig. Car-jacking as in hi-jacking rather than jacking up onto axle stands. Very popular at the moment on petrol station forecourts, there's been a number of mother's who have had their Chelsea Tractors car-jacked with kids in the back, etc.... This particular system allows the little f"ckers to drive off thinking they've got your motor and not had to use their guns/knives to get it, only to find that it powers down a few streets away and tha alarm goes off. ETA - I think that you were talking above about the tilt and motion sensors available on alarms to prevent wheels being nicked. Blackjax is something different (as above). []
craigy Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 omg first i have herd of that lmao i thought we were on about wat i said taxi for er well me lol
Guest leebo77 Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 LOL It's becoming a more common method of vehicle theft along with house-breaking for keys. Basically, as car alarms have become more sophisticated it is now easier to nick them through other methods.
craigy Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 scary really aint it, just glad im really cautious of wen my car is unlocked i lock it as soon as i step out
Guest leebo77 Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 Me too mate, but some loony with a gun/knife won't be put off by it being locked unfortunately - they'll more than likely hurt you to get it. £uckers.

Guest leebo77 Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 you no how to put the wind up someone dont ya lol i no wot you mean tho scarey world we live in Sorry mate, didn't mean to. As Nick Ross says every month, please don't have nightmares and do sleep well. []
wedmonds1 Posted April 19, 2007 Author Posted April 19, 2007 Found a company... £150 fitted... Pulse Audio down in southend... Bit far but i have it on good authority that they are good. Something i found out... you need to check with you insurance company before fitting as it may invalidate it. Something to do with messing with alarm. Greenlight insurance (who i am with) said its fine in my case as they see it as additional security but dont give you anything more off.
