You will be offered all sorts of weird and wonderful advice mate,

Best bet is to talk to whom ever is going to map your car, tell him what you want power wise, and he will advise you accordingly as to what supporting mods you will need, and how much its likely to cost.

This cuts out the "Ide do this..." and "No no, you need one of of these" advice that sometimes get a bit confusing on here.

Once you have been advised and you know what you want, here is a good place to look for the stuff and get advice on the best places to purchase.

Your mapper will also advise you about the boost you will need to run to get what you want, and the safest way to do it.

Every car is different, so even though you have the mods etc etc, the mapper will decide from what he sees before him on his laptop as he changes the fuelling and ignition advance, what boost he is happy to run to achieve your goal.

Most people are pleasantly surprised, some need to have issues with thier car looked at before they can go back and get the full monty.

so good for 380 horse then

and how much boost can i run

TBH

I doubt that much, just i know some one who has, vf35, full 3" decat and Mr F mapped and is circa 325 to 335ish

Saying that there is a man on here who has round about that figure i believe on his sti with the 35[:o][:P] with other mods

But ask the experts i.e Andy F for example, for 100% bullet proof advise[:o]

It would be interesting to see what Mr F has to say, I'm beging to collect some bits before I go and see Andy later on in the year.

Was hoping for 330 ish but was wanting to keep original clutch.

Haven't seen your car about, I stay in blackburn aswell.

Good to see it's in the best colour though[:P]

IMO, you'll struggle to push things beyond 350bhp with a 2.5" exhaust system, starts to get pretty restrictive at this point from what I've read/heard... and I always thought that the STi Version 7 came with a VF34, rather than the VF35 in the STi Version 8, ya lives n learns eh!! [:P]

With huge horsepower through a bigger flowing turbo then yes a 2.5 inch exhaust would start to strangle the car at somepoint, but for what the man is looking for on a VF35 I think he will be fine. Talk to Andy.

the reason i got the 2.5 system was because it will give me the best results up to the 350 mark, got it at a good price to, lol

350 is my goal for the mean time then on to 400, when i get to 350 then will be changing the exhaust for  a 3 inch system and ditching all the cats, ect, for the road to 400.

dont live in blackburn anymore mate moved ou 3 year ago, and the car isnt blue black anymore, its graphite black,

I ain't a turbo expert but one thing I know is that the VF series are no as bullt proof as the TD's so running a higher boost can be more of a gamble. Having said that Andy F said he'd never heard of a VF35 fail but some of the older VF's were not as tough

And the vf23's ....  lol [;)

I thought you might say that! at least we know through you "testing" that the 20G doesn't have those issues[H]
