sti pretender Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Considering lowering the car, don't want to lose to much ride quality as use my car daily for business also have two young kids. Have been considering getting Prodrives but was looking at the tein website and notice they do High Tech springs. Has anyone fitted these or have most people gone for the S-Tech? Also does anyone have the ratings for the Prodrive springs to compare them with Teins?
st3ph3n Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 I'm running S-Techs. The ride is firmer than my aunt's home baking, and I've eaten rocks that were softer than her cakes. Teins lower the car 35mm front and 30mm rear I think, where as the prodrives are 25/20.
sti pretender Posted March 23, 2007 Author Posted March 23, 2007 Thanks St3ph3n, High Tech's are 29/17 and 20lbs/in less than the S-Tech's so should be a slightly softer ride.
fai17 Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Go for Prodrive as it has been proven. And it's even comfyer than the standard setup.
craig mac Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Sorry i have to disagree with you there Pete Go for Teins in my book, but each to there own, and i dont worry about my fillings being rattled out i dnt hav many left!![] As long as it sticks to the road/track like sheeet to a blanket then am happy, and the tein drop is a better look as well, not that it has anything to do with cosmetics for me.
fai17 Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 I got agree with Craig...the Tein lowered cars does indeed look better with it lower than Prodrive but for a family man point of veiw tha Prodrive is more comfortable. He did state that he has a family too.[]
craig mac Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 He did state that he has a family too.[] Coming Soon.....LOL Also family wheels coming soon[]
sti pretender Posted March 23, 2007 Author Posted March 23, 2007 Thanks Peter and Craig. Prodrives it is then, will get Subaru to do it that way my warranty will still be good when the shocks go.
fai17 Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 You don't need Subaru to fit it to keep they warranty m8 and i would try elsewhere and get the Group N setting alignment done too.[] Save yourself some money
st3ph3n Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Robert, you're more than welcome to have a wee go in my car to see what the ride is like. It's stiffer than the prodrives without question, but anyone that's been in the car with me will tell you that it holds the road well. Even the squirrel says it holds the road well, for a big girl []
sti pretender Posted March 24, 2007 Author Posted March 24, 2007 Thanks Stephen might take you up on that at the next meet if time allows. Peter considering getting it done when its in for the first service, but if not I know your are the man to talk to.[]
