I'm hoping to pick mine up in Taplow on Saturday, fingers crossed. What are his concerns? Looks a little too modified for my personal liking but I'll have a look for him if you want, I'm not an expert tho.

Well it appears to have all history etc but he has never owned a scooby and i am FAR from even being close to knowing what i am talking about.  I think he just wants someone to scan over it and say that they think its ok or not.  He will make his own mind up but does not know what to be on the look out on a car this age.

Any thoughts?  He would REALLY appreciate if you or someone else could spare some time to take a look at it with him.

Depends where it is really and what time etc for me, I have to be
here for Jake when he comes back from school.  I don't mind having
a look but I'm no expert lol

Things to look out for are the usual really, crash damage,
engine noise - if it sounds like a box of nails after running for a
little while walk away, likewise if after it is warmed up there is a
lot of white smoke from the exhaust, turbo will be on the way out and
need replacing.

When test driving go to a straight road
(preferably empty) and let the steering wheel loose and see if it pulls
to one side this would be tracking etc, then give it a good hard stamp
on the brakes to check the brakes....

Guru, kind of my thoughts, def a caveat emptor situation. Looking at the map I should be there or thereabouts on Sat so if he wants a drive up then let me know. I am very cautious on buing cars and will try to find fault with everything[8-|]

from the money that  has been spent on that car i would say it has been well looked after, but again it does not mean that there is not something wrong just make sure it def cold before its started an make sure you get it nice an warm an have a good listen.
