granby Posted May 7, 2007 Author Posted May 7, 2007 I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone that turned up today as it was a great turnout even though the weather decided to change for the worse after weeks of being fine [] and hopefully the next time we do this trip it will be third time lucky and we will have lovely warm sunshine [H] Also thanks to markie for leading (and supplying maps & directions) us today as he did a great job and managed to keep us together for most of the time [Y] Unfortunately we had to park quite a way away from the old town but that was the only car park that was empty enough to get 20+ Scoobies all parked together and anyway the walk should of done everyone the world of good [] Once again thanks to everyone for turning up and hope to see you all next time [] Ian ps...i won't mention the fish & chips [+o(]

Good work with the route as there was only one right hand turn (excluding roundabouts) on the whole journey which was genius!! I have some pictures of everyones cars so if someone can tell me how to post them, i'll get them up later today. Cheers again.

Guest v8voodoo Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 Another vote of thanks to all involved in the organising of the Hastings run. It was my first run out with the SIDC so I'd also like to say thanks to the people that made me feel very welcome. As a slight aside, I left in the direction of Rye/Asford/Folkestone and stopped off to pick something up from a shop in Rye. after making my purchase, I used the local facilities and as I did, I heard the rumble of several Scoobs going past me..!! I thought the building was about to fall down around me..!!! Try as I might to catch you up, I didn't thanks to the combined efforts and wonderful spacing of a Rover 418 diesel and a people carrier [|-)] though they did get dispatched once the road straightened up a touch [] Hope you had an enjoyable run back through the Lydd/Camber roads as I did...!! Thanks again, Nige.
dazzlers82 Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 v8voodoo if you was in a silver classic i did see you a few cars back in my rear view mirror so u was not far behind.

Hi mate was you the car behind me on the way down there? sorry about my constent speed change, trying to keep close to that spec c was challenging lol This run was great for my ecu reset, had a few problems, mainly in 1st gear but otherwise it ran perfect. felt even better on the way home so i think the run's made it relearn all it's bits lol[]

Don't worry about the change of speed, as long as your car ran well then that's the main thing!

granby Posted May 9, 2007 Author Posted May 9, 2007 How strange, been looking at the "have you been spotted threads" and we had 20 odd Scoobies driving down to Hastings Sunday yet we don't get spotted at all, maybe we were all in stealth mode []
Guest leebo77 Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 I think that most of the 'spotters' were themselves in attendance.
