Just back from a visit to Andy Forrest, and i would like to thank him for the work and time he spent on my car today. It has totally changed the car and im loving it,hopefully i will get away with the pops and bangs as we had two close calls with the police on the way back. But i did say to him i would like it to pop and bang so thats what he did. It sounds like a rally car on the motorway it will do it  constanly so im going to try and get used to the driving style by diping the clutch when your on the overrun if i dont want it to go off like a bomb.Sorry Andy for phoning you back about it so soon after leaving, but it seems to have been not to bad tonight. Thanks again and i would recomend you 1st to anyone, Sean[:(]

Great news Sean.

I don't think my neighbours would have appreciated the full on pops and bangs setting so much, but mine still does it a wee bit [:(

I still can't get over how much more torque I have after Monday!

Good stuff seano, another satisfied Andyf customer!

What engine mods do you have and what power and torque did Andy reckon your car was making?

Btw, seen you at the onramp at hillington the other night, car looked smart as a smart thing!

Nice one Andy and Sean.

Oh yes...i followed Sean to my work and my GOD does this car bang...ala AntiLag style[:)]

It's loud and proud but the whole street was looking round..

BTW get yourself to the run on Sunday and show them what banging means[:)]

how did andy get it to pop and bang so much without the use of anti lag then?

Leave it rich for a moment longer on overun and on throttle closure will give you pops and bangs, its harmless when a pro mappers does it.

Est power 335bhp and 325torque[:)] The car has a Meercat downpipe,C&C 3Inch exhaust,Green panel fillter, grade 7 plugs, uprated fuel pump. and some Shell V power .The pops and bangs have been done by retarding the timing a bit on the over run .

Posted

Its not overfueling so no risk of borewash. The timing is retarded by 'a chunk' [:)] ignition still takes place but so late that some air/fuel mix gets to the hot exhaust before it has completed the burn. This is just whilst on very high vacuum overrun and in a particular rpm band, as soon as you touch the throttle or dip the clutch the engine responds as normal.
