bought a pioneer mp3/cd/radio. tuned the radio in but it loses reception[:@] searches for alternative but finds absolutely nothing?? i'm in aberdeen at the minute but kev at T&C is on holiday so don't know who to get to check it out for me. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a new age by chance?

It sounds to me like your powered antenna isn't switching on as I had the exact same problem. I think if you check your subaru to iso harness you'll find there's one wire that your pioneer stereo isn't providing a feed to. I'm certain it's the blue wire. What you need to do is cut that wire then splice or blade it into the switched 12v line. That way when you turn your ignition on the signal amp will get powered up, as it isn't at the moment.

took your advice - sparky at work checked wiring diagrams plugged 12v feed in (supplied) and hey presto.[;)]

I'm just down in Bothwell. The shell in Bellshill's one of my local watering holes.

I've learned a lot about the electronics behind the dash in the Impreza. Got a few things wired in now, splitter for cigarette lighter socket hardwired in the back, defi gauges taking their power from the stereo harness too. It's my specialist subject on SIDC Mastermind!
