HIT AND RUN(CAR)

Parked outside my mates house, car clean and tidy and looking good. go outside as i am leaving and my mate says "wat a mess you have made of your motor", i replied What do you mean!!!!!! go round to passenger side to see that the whole rear q panel has been dented in really badly. at this point im going off my head!!!!! look on the other side of the road opposite my motor and see an old volvo estate eith the square pionted plastic bumpers. i go and have a look, and the shape of the rear bumper seems to fit perfectly with the damage.

i went to see if the owner was in and if he could/would shed some light on the situation to no availe, so i take reg number. i'll be going back tomoro for a chat.

i report this to the police and i am told that i will need to file a report which i gladly done and that the best they can do is hope the person ownes up to the misshap.

to say im raging is the understatement.

now to the money! how much for repairs? badly dented rear q panel with no paint damage (obvious)?????

I can relate to you mate - same thing with my pride and joy last week and tbh Police are not doing much about it.  Taken over a week to find that the car has been sold recently and a it would appear to have been seen more by peeps on here (thanks Paul(?) & Kenny) than by every Lothian & Borders cop in Edinburgh . Good luck in sorting it out!

Hopefully we can swap happy stories in the near future!

Know exactly how you're felling mate. Parked my much loved

mr2 in the street to nip into the house for something, gets a phone call

from a neighbour that they think someone's just drove into my car.

So I flee doonstairs, here you have it, drivers front totally

mangled and a f ucking corsa abandoned 10 yds past mine in

the middle of the road - no driver. Police caught him - already

banned, nicked the grans car and was beltin' around the town[:@]

I was only TPFT so had to fork out a grand to fix it, eventually sold

it for £1500, f ucking gutted so I was!! When you look after your motor

there is nothing worse[:'(]

it just seems to be happening all to often, people just dont seem to care or have respect for others or their property. the police aint much help but in all honesty there aint much they can do because of the circumstances.

im looking foe a good dent remover in glasgow and someone who can sort the scuff.

mine is nowhere near as bad as your mr2 it is such a gutting thing when these types of things happen.

thanx for that, its good to know there are still some nice people out there.

defo fully comp, but to claim is the pig.

i got a good price on getting it sorted and it turns out its not as bad as i though. £50 for the panel to be reshaped and the paint damage will t-cut out if not buff out and a right good polish should sort it, much happier than i was!!

so it seems good things can happen rather than the constant barrarge of bad things!
