ROAR Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Hello guys, i think my little uns 206 has been bitten by the dreaded o2 sensor killing bug now he tells me that about last tuesday his car started to die on acceleration as you go to pull away but no warning lights are showing on the dash any ideas how this contaminated fuel problem manifest i appreciate its not a scoob question but the more intelligent people found on here may have some ideas thanks guys (by the way he only ever fills up at asda greenhithe)
Baz69birds Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 according to the NEWS!!! you have to drain your petrol tank (even if its full) flush it through (dont know how to do that) & put clean petrol from another garage in!!! other than that take it to a Garage & ask them to fix it (TV estimates) about £400 to fix!!
darryl_martin Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Sorry mate, but had someone come in to work last week having just filled up at Asda Greenhithe and their car was in for repairs. I put something up on here just in case but the symptoms sound like it could be that. Did I see you last night? Blue newage, flashed twice heading out of dartford towards the Longfield area down the hill? You were coming up. VERY VERY IMPORTANT!!! KEEP A SAMPLE OF THE FUEL FOR PROOF
ROAR Posted March 2, 2007 Author Posted March 2, 2007 yes was me just phoned peugeot and they say it could be the problem even though the engine light has not come on, so hey ho lets get rid of another 400 quid then.....
darryl_martin Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Someone else at work now. Another peugeot, this time a 106. Heavy rattle when you start to pull away, thought it might be the exhaust knocking on something, and today car is not well. Doesn't want to rev or anything but again no engine light. Diagnosed as o2 sensor, last filled up, asda greenhithe 17/02/07. On the plus side the door lock repair where some little**** broke into last week looks good, and the glass where they smashed the rear window the week before that only went into the boot, didn't cover the whole car. Hopefully that's all for now...... ROAR, any news on any compensation yet?
baser999 Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Quote ..... any news on any compensation yet? thought the fuel companies had announced the compensation details ?
darryl_martin Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Quote Quote ..... any news on any compensation yet? thought the fuel companies had announced the compensation details ? I thought Tesco's had released some details but wondered if Asda had come up with anything. I heard about Asda before it all got into the news and they seem to have managed to stay out of it lol!!!
ROAR Posted March 14, 2007 Author Posted March 14, 2007 dont thinks asda have admited liability drained the fuel out myself, stuck redex through it with v power all seems ok fingers crossed
baser999 Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Have a look at www.faultyfuel.com Don't know if this any help?
Herman Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 Last i heard ASDA are denying their fuel actually reached the pumps............ Which is why they not taking any sort of responsibility for repairs, TESCO are paying for all repairs, you only need proof you filled up in their forecourts and receipts for damages, really helpful people. MORRISONS are doing the same. Reports are also that FORDs are meant to be largly immune but it stuffed ours, and yet TESCO's at mo couldn't be more helpful. Guess ASDA's arnt.
