mean greenie Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 evening all, need some info about 4 pot brake pad shims. in the progress of sourcing parts to upgrade my classis to 4 pot front brakes. the question is, do the pads all run with shims on the top, bottom and back of the pad?, are the pads loose in the caliper without shims causing knocking noises? do the shims usually come when purchasing pads? any info gratefully received. many thanks matt
Pele Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Usually when you buy the 4 pots they will have shims in them. If not you can buy a caliper service kit fromSubaru which includes these. AFAIK, shims do not come with the brake pads....
