jcscoob Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 The boys(well dave) @ AWD rebuilt my motor and its still going ! [] BTW - how did you get on today mate ?
wrxchris Posted February 18, 2007 Author Posted February 18, 2007 ah not so good, a few of the guys seen me comin off the line bouncin all over the place! coilovers are destined for the bin, still managed a reasonable 12.5. but in general not happy at todays efforts!
paddy247 Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 A Poor dig indead, Is the car in question a white sti type r that changed hands 2 or 3 times before going pop with its current owner? Chris 12.5 is a good time. You are now at the level of having to fine tune suspension, tyres, weight reduction, launching, changing gear at the right revs, ect ect you know the script, but when it all comes to gether, the times you were talking about might not be far away.
cusco kid Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 just making a statment m8 you dont know the full story £ 2500 later and not finished that just to put things back to normal .crank, rods pistons oil pump heads repaired etc i will post the total bill and a run down of damage and what parts had been fitted later geo

scoobyseller555 Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 A Poor dig indead, Is the car in question a white sti type r that changed hands 2 or 3 times before going pop with its current owner? this car has only changed hands once...........................as it was mine![] Gav
paddy247 Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 No Probs Chris chat soon. Gav, is that the car you bought from Lindsay, who had the work done to it, you the sold it on after a short ownership, if its the same car then im only saying its changed hands twice since the the work was done. not thats an excuse for an engine to go pop. So what caused the engine to go pop? was it poor workman ship?, poor work done at the machine shop?, poor maping? or poor maintanance/care/use of the car? or component failure, cusco kid, I might know more than you think i know!! I personally have seen a lot of engines give up for various reasons. Im not hear to noise people up.
grant@AWD Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Andy here using Grant's log in, just seen and viewed this thread and it has boiled ma blood. The white 2dr coupe that you are on about which has popped was only in AWD to rectifie another garages mistakes which consisted of head gaskets. We did fit defi gauges, samco hoses and a 20g turbo and was then mapped by Andy F. When the car left here we had nothing but appraise from the customer who was delighted with the performance and reliability. I do not know how you were sold the car or what sales pitch was said BUT WE DID NOT RE-BUILD THE ENGINE this was done 2 years ago at a garage in Dunblane. If you want a copy of reciepts for proof of work done in AWD please just call. I also still keep in touch with the owner of the car prior to Gav if you wish to confirm what iam saying. Do not want to fall out with anybody on here just want to set the record straight, not nice to get the blame for something which is out of our control. Look forward to your reply or give me a call if you need further info. P.S cheers for the shout out Chris and well done at Crail
grant@AWD Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Me using Ma Log In I peronally don't really bother to rise to people who talk alot of s--t like the cussco kid (george) as he clearly doesn't have a clue what he is talking about
wrxchris Posted February 22, 2007 Author Posted February 22, 2007 just the usual paddy, somebody openin there mouth without knowin all the facts! on the postive side, im still over the moon with my car. will be up shortly for the next power hike []
cusco kid Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 LISTEN up m8 never once have i slagged awd. i was told the engine was built by awd it would better if you kept your nose out of things that dont concern you. i have never met grant from awd and any correspondance between him and myself will be private so BUTT OUT PAL . the reason i have not responded is that i am in contact with last owner but 1 if there is an apoligy owed an apoligy will be forthcoming which is non of your busniess SO ALL OF YOU LOT KEEP QUIET SHUT UP AND LET GRANT AND MYSELF SORT IT OUT AMICABLY REGARDS G PARIS [:#]
paddy247 Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 YOU POSTED IN AN OPEN FORUM THAT AWD BUILT THE ENGINE IN YOUR SONS CAR, WHICH HAS WENT POP, NOW ID SAY THATS SLAGING AWD, NOW YOU KNOW AWD DID NOT BUILD THE ENGINE, I THOUGHT ID HAVE SEEN AN APOLOGY BACK IN THE OPEN FORUM, AS THIS IS WHERE YOU STARTED THIS AND NOT IN PRIVATE. OR MAYBE YOU ARE TO BIG FOR THAT, I WILL POST WHAT RESPONSE TO THREADS I WANT IN AN OPEN FORUM WHICH WILL NOT BE DICTATED BY YOURSELF TO ME. DONT GET ALL SHIRTY WITH ME IF YOU LOOK A TWAT NOW, BECOUSE YOU WERE TO QUICK TO JUMP ON THE BAND WAGON. IN AN OPEN FORUM WHERE THIS IS BEING DISCUSED AND NOT IN PRIVATE WHERE YOU SHOULD HAVE STARTED IT!!!!!! YOU HAVE P/M
phil Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 This thread is going to be locked These forums are no place for personal insults AWD have responded to a post and that poster has acknowledged the response
