boris b Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Got this Prodrive off ebay ( from Aberdeen way ) delivered for £50 odd notes...Well chuffed. Getting it fitted later in week at friends garage, what else do i need to do once it's fitted ? was going to put a green filter in it as well. Do i need to get the ECU thingy ( not Mr Tech by the way) done or wot ??? Need advice please. Kit B
diffbuster Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 You wont need a remap as you still have cats you should change to a better panel filter k+n or green to make the most of better flow.Or better still change downpipe aswell. btw i thought prodrive bb had a single exit.
boris b Posted February 14, 2007 Author Posted February 14, 2007 Thanks for that mate, i wouldn't know a Prodrive zorst if it fell out the sky and landed on me ( very much the novice..) ...i'm only going by the description on Fleabay which was... Here we have a used pro-drive exhaust, i took this off my car because i fitted a full stainless sytem. The item has been sitting outside since i took it off my car which was about 2 months ago, it has surface rust only because it has been sitting outside for this amount of time. It came off my 1999 subaru impreza pro-drive 2000 turbo, the item is generally in good condition with just surface rust. im not sure which models this exhaust will fit apart from the classic 2000 turbo impreza's.
RS Grant Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 I dont think that is a Prodrive Exhaust mate... I had a MY99 PPP, which came with the Prodrive Back Box and it looked like this: Cheers, Grant
boris b Posted February 14, 2007 Author Posted February 14, 2007 Ah well....Anyone able to say what make it is.... ? Just as well i didnae pay much then...
RS Grant Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Its difficult to say, I know that TSL Motorsport did a Twin (Standard-Style) Uprated Exhaust that was aimed at being a bit more subtle than a large single exit system... Your own looks a bit too chunky to be a cleaned up standard one, so I'd say it was defo aftermarket, just not totally sure what brand. Cheers, Grant
boris b Posted February 14, 2007 Author Posted February 14, 2007 Cheers for that, as long as it makes a bit of a difference then i'll be a happy chappy... The welding and finish are a bit rough compared to the Afterburner Vortex i had on the sport. Looks like it was custom made..No stamps on it. Kit
Guest AlanK Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Was just about to say when I saw the pic - that aint prodrive. However I cant help in suggesting what it might be - just know it dont look like mine. Sling it on and see what happens is all you can ask for really! Nice car btw!! [] AlanK <MY99 Silver UK Wagon>
boris b Posted February 15, 2007 Author Posted February 15, 2007 That's just what i'm gona do mate.....It was cheap anyway so if i don't like it , it aint too much to loose... BTW , There must be a delay at Swansea , if anyone else is waiting for a reg transfer....It's taking longer than the 7 days which they say is the max for it... 9 days now.. Brother in law is getting sick of people in the village waving and flashing lights at him. He got ma old motor and it still has my plate on it..[]
