Layout and size of exhaust pipework on Blobeye STi Help

Is the downpipe on a 04 sti the same as an 05 wrx i have bought a 3 inch system cat back that is its from scooby clinic they quote 3 inch pipework on there website but the guy am getting it from says it was fittted to his standard downpipe. is the sti 3" exhaust or will it be reduced to a 2 and a half inch flange? cheers Greig hopw that makes sense.

Sounds like its just a downpipe back system standard for a standard downpipe.

So yeah its sounds like a 2.5" at the flange going to 3" back from the downpipe cat.

Bump does anyone know the layout of the exhaust pipe work for an 04 sti and poss the sizes? does the downpipe incresa to a 3" flange for the centre section? does a sti have a 3rd cat pipe or just staright to the centre section??? Thanks Greig

Standard downpipe is 2.5" at the flange where it meets the centre section, If you want a true 3" system you will need a new Downpipe that does not reduce at the end.

Yea ill need to check when the exhaust gets here as the guy thought it was on to his standard downpipe if so it won`t be a true 3" system just need to hope it is tho lol.

Standard STi downpipe is 2.5inch so for a true 3 inch system you'll need a 3 inch downpipe with a 3 inch system with no reducer in it.

Yea am not that bothered bout it being a 3" inch system just it would have been a bounus a think it must reduce to 2.5" tho. we will see thanks for your help guys. Greig
