GENERAL COMPUTER QUERY

Yes I know its not a scooby problem but just after help from any computer [8-|] out there to what is probably a really stupid question. When I go into the internet I have the Google 'search bar' on the screen - no problem with that - but how do I delete all of the old items I've entered in that line when I've been searching for something in the past?  Hope you understand what I mean [:$] Thank you.

When you type in a name in the search bar at the very bottom is a clicky which says clear history, click on that and it will clear it for you (you been looking at the dodgy sites again Barry....you'll go blind you know [:D])

Is that why when you post sometimes it's small text then the next time it's a massive text [8-|]

What version of Internet Explorer are you using? Version 7 has a "Clear Browsing History" option in the tools menu. (right hand top underneath "settings") If you have version 6 then you can clear the cache/history by going to "internet options" on your control panel and I think there is an option on there to clear the web history. Just remember that if you delete and cookies or saved passwords then you will have to retype your login password for any forums etc.

In version 7 you cam select the number of days to keep the history etc.

Hope this helps.

go to tools

internet options

content

autocomplete settings - untick all of them

and then the general tab

delete :history, cache and temp files

and hopefully your history will be clear for ever more

Hi,

Next to the word Google on the task bar there's a down arrow (small upside down triangle), click on it once with the left mouse button. It will bring up a menu, 4th down is "clear search history" and viola.

Hope this helps,

Dan

Sorted [:(] rang a friend who went through the 'tools - clear browser' route which has cleared the list of searched sites - this seems to be the route that most of you guys have since suggested so thanks anyway.  Had previously tried clearing the history via the Google toolbar down arrow option but that only clears items searched via the toolbar for some reason. Now I know how to clear it I may as well get back to viewing porn [:D]
