turbo smoke

 I was overtaken by a fellow impreza driver yesterday, he seemed to be in a bit of a rush. There were 3 cars infront of me and as soon as there was a tiny gap in the traffic there was a huge cloud of white smoke and then he vanished....

im not sure if this was a magic trick dissapearing from behind the smoke of if this is normal for a turbo car but i have never seen this amount of smoke from the back of a car.

is this normal??

That happened to me a few years ago when i had an Uno Turbo i just swung onto the motorway heading for Glasgow i got a huge plume of white smoke then the turbo gave up the ghost ,after removing it i found out the bearings had siezed.
