Pele Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 i recon (as an essex member) you need to organise a BIG MEET, or go to a Local EVENT (school fete, fund raiser) & get a PHOTOGRAPHER (cough cough) to take a load of pics, get a Club member to do a write up!!!! & alone with the pictures, send to MR PHIL STEPHENS. i then feel that it will MAKE the TRUE GRIP Mag??? Baz's view on this matter!!! Baz, I have on several ocassions asked people for photos and write ups on various events, and had no feedback whatsoever. However, if people now wish to do so and have write ups and pics from any of last years events I will start the KentScoobies diary up again [] and then perhaps we will get more people willing to add their input for a big event. Pele
Guest leebo77 Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 How about a naked calendar shoot?? I'll be up for that. I would probably cover January to July.... []
Pele Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I have been thinking about that for a while and have a photographer in mind - who would be up for it tho? It would be tastefully done a la 'Calendar Girls' and perhaps proceeds could go to a charity??
gina_winder Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 As I have said before I work in a school for children with physical disabilities, we are always looking for new ways to entertain the kids, get some publicity for the school and at the moment we are trying to raise money to get some remote control car for the kids to use!! People always like a feel good story!! <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Just one other thing the school is set in beautiful surroundings and it would make a great backdrop for the pics. Just an idea.
Pele Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Gina, which school is it you work at? My son is disabledand although he goes to a mainstream school he has a few friends who goto special schools. As for remote control cars, are you looking for special ones or will any sort do? Pele
granby Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Here are my thoughts on this thread Why do we HAVE to put Kent Scoobies on the map, it's not as if we are not known (our t-shirt threads are world famous []), OK so the ESC have had a couple of articles in True Grip but they do a lot more events & shows than us but that doesn't make us inferior. If we are doing anything it should be because we want to and not because we want to get a article in True Grip, i'm not trying to put a downer on anyone's comments but i think we need to get our priorities right, and of course i'll be more than happy to help out whenever i can in whatever we do [Y]. Ian

Ian It's true we are well known, if you remember we also managed to get in a Tokyo newspaper!!! [] I would just like to do something about the KentScoobies diary page as that seems to be one of the first things I get asked about by new members, ie, why it is so out of date? Also ESC get to cover more events because there are so many of them, KS is a much smaller group in comparism, therefore they are going to get seen more. Ian you just volunteered for January!!! []

Pele I work at Valence school in westerham. Remote control cars any that will not fall apart after 5 sec!!! but if it was me getting them then they would be scooby's of course
Pele Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Two of Jake's friends go to that school [] I'll have a look around, Jake has loads of remote control stuff and he's just not interested in it. I'd rather it go to a good cause than throw it away [] I might even have a scooby to throw in too[]

matthew_buckland Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 I think all male members under 50 (not leave us many i know[]) should wack on their Subaru racing overalls and drape themselves across their bonnets, some decent filters on the camera lenses may make them look half decent.[] (only joking lads) As long as their cars are more in shot then the owners it should look good. We have some nice looking cars in KS so they should be shared with the world.
matthew_buckland Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Ian, Your only saying that cos you made an appearence in the last one, dont want to expose yourself to much to the sidc community.[]
granby Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Even better don't have the members in the pics but just the cars []
