C J K Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Hello peeps, used to be on here up to a couple of years ago, will be looking to get back to Impreza ownership in the next month or so.Last time i were here the regulers were Johnny 50 ,Dougster,Spooks etc they still I about?? Have been doing the American thing the last wee while,Corvette and the noo a GMC Typhoon which i aint had long but want rid poo off a stick in a straight line(4.3 V6 Turbo) but typical yank thro the corners, rare as hens teeth only about 3500 ever made over a 2 year run 92,93. Should never have bought it the Subaru Pull was returning as i was buying it...should always trust yer instincts eh. Have had 2 classic WRX's and an STI 1 in the past, looking for an early STI 2/3 .will have about 6k to spend seems to be a lot about Pistonheads etc, even more of a minefield than it used to be I guess Huh! cheers Colin from Livi.
4Hero Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 welcome back! Dougster and Spooks are still around, but not sure about Johnny 50? good luck with the hunt [Y]
oobster Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Welcome back from a fellow West Lothian resident. Spooks is still the regional RO, Dougster pops up now & again & Jonny50 isn't on much nowadays as his wife has just recently had their first baby.
sti pretender Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Always remember seeing the GMC Typhoon and Syclone feature in Fast Car mag and being amazed at the performance from what I recall the quote was "Ferrari performance from a truck!". Nice.
C J K Posted January 14, 2007 Author Posted January 14, 2007 Aye the old Typhoon is a bit of a legend in the U.S.,they call them Stop Light Warriors! When they were first made they were the fastest SUV's on the planet, reckon there is less than a dozen in the UK. If I was the type to be going to Crail every weekend it would be an ideal toy ,but the Scooby pull has returned big time, that many roundabouts in Livi ye need something that goes round them with a bit of style. The corvette was pretty entertaining ,all that V8 grunt[].... but with 3 kids even as a 2nd car I was getting too much grief from her that must be obeyed, there was still the need for me to be shipping kids about so that had to go,like i said, wish i'd just bought an impreza at that point[:$] Let me know if there are any nice classic examples about for sale or if you ken anyone that might fancy the Typhoon as a wee toy[:$]
wrxmania Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Good on you. Still quite a few of us old folk about. What number was your STI V1? Brian []
C J K Posted January 14, 2007 Author Posted January 14, 2007 Brian,My Sti1 was in the 170's i think....[8-)]
RA Dunk Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Let me know if there are any nice classic examples about for sale or if you ken anyone that might fancy the Typhoon as a wee toy[:$] heres an absolute minter already tuned reliably for ya http://forums.sidc.co.uk/forums/thread/855760.aspx
