james666 Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 it is very easy m8 i done mine few weeks ago no pics sorry but pi$$ easy took bout 30 mins when i found rite one to take out (took sender unit out first) doopy git but its no hassle
GrantyBoy Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 I changed mine in my work car park at night, in the cold with a stonking hangover. Took just over an hour to do. It is easy to do, though I recomend better working conditions than the ones quoted above
euan_r Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 ^^^ as said. I did try depressurising mine by taking fuel lines off in engine bay and running untill it stopped. didnae make much difference tbh. just have a few rags handy as a wee bit of petrol does like to escape at the beginning. edit load of pash: took off electrical feed to pump and ran till stopped, still spilled some though.
scientific steve Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 seems like an obvious thing but also helps not having a full tank like i did when i had my one changed by someone who knew how too []
Guest Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 thanks for the replies guys, if i remember right, its rear seats out, disconect battery (?), then its the bolts / screws and fuel line clips, then the pump can be removed and the new one put in, then the reverse for all the other bits. hopefully thats it. will let you all know, might take pics when i do it and try to post them. alan
WUZ Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 hint - make sure to open the fuel flap and remove the fuel cap b4 you remove the fuel lines from the top of the tank.....limits spillage hardest part of removing all the insides to get to the tank lid 1 hours start to finish! FINALLY - IF YOU CAN .......USE THE ORIGINAL FILTER, NOT THE NEW ONE SUPPLIED WITH THE FTTING KIT! Russell
