Please help, being new too all this, there is a lot I still dont know, I read on the forum about Remapping and what fuel you need to put in an import, I got this as an answer

"remapping maps the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) for all the different tollerences or mods/upgrades you have done to your car so you can apretiate and in most cases release the extra power the mod/upgrade brings with it that the standard map and or ECU wont be able to recognise or use to the full potential"

but I still don't really understand!!! I have no Mods I have no idea if any thing was done to the car b4 I bought it for using english fuel.

Also I do 70 Miles a day 5 days a week then round town durring the weekends, but I am filling it up twice a week about £65, is that about the norm or is it cos I am using the wrong fuel?? Please can some one help in simple don't know that much kind of a way.

Sorry for being silly but thought you where the right people to ask

£65 for 350 miles is about right, unless they are all motorway miles, and changing the grade of fuel will have no major differences to this..

You should be using Shell V Power at a minimum. Its 99ron fuel and is the closest to the 100ron available in Japan. My old one which was mapped for Japamese fuel was always run on Optimax, which was 98ron, and an octane booster which brought it upto 100ron.

Personally now that V-Power is99ron I think that this should be fine for normal driving (Although this is just my opinion) and only need octane booster if you are going to boot it.

Using a lower grade of fuel can cause the engine to knock (Which basically means the the fuel ignites at the wrong time in the combustion cycle) which results in bang and goodbye engine.

Apart from changing the d/v, air filter and exhaust mines a bog-standard 00 classic and I run mine on V-Power . My work journey is only about 12 miles each way but in traffic (stop-start along the Old Kent Road coming home at night) and I reckon I'm getting about 26/27 mpg so your figures seem about the same.
