scoobyjim Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 ok my 99 classic is fitted with a big brake 4 pot conversion by hi spec which was fitted by the previous owner 5 years ago and the dics needed replaced so i phoned them up and ordered a pair from them quoting the size and order number from the original invoice, 310mm x 28 iirc, they were sent direct to falkland performance centre who were going to fit them this morning along with new ferodo ds 2500 pads, got up early, drove through got there for 9am, they take the disc off, also have to take the seperate bell housings off, turns out the discs are the wrong size!! they sent 300mm not 310mm and they dont fit the calipers/pads, so had to leave the car there, got their courtesy car luckely enough and im going to be out of pocket for the labour they have spent on the car already. checked the invoice and receipt from hi spec which shows the correct order of 310mm so they are at fault, the sales team not in today girl on the phone is getting the correct ones sent but i will be on the phone first thing monday morning to hi spec and i will be demanding they cough up for the labour at falkland due to their error. so for now im stuck with a new nissan micra. not happy.
Andy UK300 Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 thats crap, now how you feel tho about things not being done right!
scoobyjim Posted December 9, 2006 Author Posted December 9, 2006 was also chatting about a remap, they have the ecutek ecu in stock for the 99 scooby, boy was showing me it, said its just a straight replacement for my ecu, no road mapping required? is this right?
Andy UK300 Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 well if you have any mods on the car then no it isnt as the map needs to be changed to acomidate these mods due to differences in fueling exaust flow etc
scoobyjim Posted December 9, 2006 Author Posted December 9, 2006 yeah thats what i though, ive got full decat. wouldnt want to be running lean/rich.
dipsy Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Save your money on the exchange ecu and get a remap by Andy f .If i was you book it in for a Andy f remap.I touch goats
col666 Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Happens all the time with suppliers, i got 2 wheel bearings recently from a place in Scotland often mentioned on here and when another garage tried to fit them they found out the seals were wrong! luckily they had other bearings on the shelf or i would have been stuffed. Col.
wilky Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Lost count of the amount of times Ive been sent wrong stuff. It doesnt bother me now, its almost like its part of the routine. 1. Order stuff 2. Always a supply drama 3.Arrives a week after promised 4. Wrong stuff 5. Phonecalls 6.Send it back 7. Another drama 8. Right bit arrives, wrong colour 9. You discover your mate had a spare one all along.
scoobyiain Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Nissan Micra lol, i have one too as a courtesy car but is going back tomorrow thank god. Shocking cars inside and out. So uncomfortable to drive, bacon rasher wheels no air con etc etc. Why would anyone buy them?
scoobyjim Posted December 10, 2006 Author Posted December 10, 2006 the thing that is really bothering me though is the fact im going to be out of pocket for the labour to fit something that doesnt fit. im phoning hi spec first thing tomorrow morning to demand money from them for the expense im going to have to pay falkland. will let u know what happens.
