4Hero Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 I was away to order a couple of bits online for my car (2006 STi) but it gives me 2 options when ordering, GD or GC8? What do these mean? I received my Certificate of Conformity and it says: Type: GD/GG Variant: GDF But I'm not sure if the Type: GD is the same [:'(] Is an 06 a GD? Any help would be great! Thanks in advance, Neil.
st3ph3n Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 GC8 = Classic From memory GDA/GDB/GGA is the shape of the car then there's the applied model code which was A and B for the Bugeye, C D for the 03 and 04 Blobeye, E for the 05 Blobeye and F for the 06 Hawkeye. So GD should be ok for yours depending on what you're ordering.
4Hero Posted December 5, 2006 Author Posted December 5, 2006 Cool, thanks Stephen.. One of the things I was ordering was these tein bonnet dampers, I imagine you can't go much wrong with these? Who am I to say though []
st3ph3n Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Should be fine. I believe Hypertech have a set in stock. Certainly did last time I was in.
st3ph3n Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 I have no idea how these model codes work you know. Either way GD is new age. PErhaps Grant or someone can explain.
4Hero Posted December 5, 2006 Author Posted December 5, 2006 I could always send them back if they don't fit. I will give it a shot [] Cheers [Y]
micra_wrc Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Neil, have a lookie here 2.5L (STi): F (ie: GDF is a 2.5L Impreza WRX STi Sedan) knew I'd heard of the funny model codes somewhere - Jacob (the American in Scotland) was talking about them [] HTH
