how much water/coolant?

my 98 wrx has sprung a leak it would seem as after parking up today i noticed what was no more than a table spoon of water sitting underneath the car at the front right corner. i thought there may have been an issue as for the last week, on starting the car i could hear the water being pushed through the system. it seems only to be leaking when the system is pressurised, so maybe just a loose hose(he says optimistically). my question is this though, how much coolant should the system hold, as there are 2 filler points. the steel one at the side of the block and the plastic one at the front left of the engine bay! any help would be appreciated.

Steel one should be full and the plastic one will have min and max on it. But wait until it's cold before you check it.

When its cold where should the level be, im assuming the plastic bottle is like an expansion tank so should the coolant be up to max when its cold or not?

As long as its between min and max it's fine.
