Fee Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Was at knockhill today with the skyline and corsa..... Skyline survived Corsa didnt... Corsa lasted about 10 easy laps... came in feeling fine then just spluttered to a rough sounding stop in the pits. Trying to start it again wasnt healthy either. Sounds like a knocking from the top end so possibly valve train related. At worst the bottom end spat its dummy. Skyline was on std brakes (ish), std suspension, road tyres so was taking it pretty easy. Was good. Fitted R32Combat's TSC the day before and tested it out today. It works really well 0 = twitchy wiggly bum. 6 = understeery. 3-4 just right some pics (www.quantum-capture.co.uk) Fee driving Me driving and some vids (in corsa, but some shots of passing/passed by skyline) DivX 5.2.1 http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...77&hl=en-GB http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...11&hl=en-GB http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...32&hl=en-GB http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...83&hl=en-GB oooof http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...11&hl=en-GB and a wee vid of my mate trying to get his helmet off :chuckle: http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...25&hl=en-GB

Fee Posted November 6, 2006 Author Posted November 6, 2006 yup.... some nice very quick cars out there We were taking it quite easy today though.... first outing in it an'all.... Pity the corsa spat the dummy though. It was handling quite well with its latest geometry/alignment. One wee ass twitch. No spin from the front foot the the floor in 2nd coming out of the hairpin either Ohhhh weell

Andy UK300 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 good day but too cold, spent most of the day spectating from the car!
col666 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Fee, The skyline was going well on Sunday[] bit understeery into Mcintyres though, pushing it a bit hard! Did you know you have no brake lights on it?! Col.
Fee Posted November 7, 2006 Author Posted November 7, 2006 Is that the corner (right) just after duffus? I can never really get that corner right LOL. The pug was easier... get it ass out. The corsa just falls off track there. The skyline was understeering there when the tyres were a bit 'jellied'. Brake lights.... yup.... noticed that after a while. Will be fixed. Doh. All in all a good experience with the skyline.... learning it Adam PS... did you get any pics of it?
gubderSTI Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Looks like you had a great day , nice pics and video footage Steve
st3ph3n Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Mcintyres is the right at the bottom of Duffus. I love it, but I always get it wrong.
Fee Posted November 7, 2006 Author Posted November 7, 2006 Its the corner I like the least! I always get it wrong too.... sometimes I think I take it too fast....but then there are people who take it faster (and I know....people have different cars that can cope with different speeds, etc....but still....) practice makes perfect I suppose.....hope it's dry on Saturday
st3ph3n Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 If you get duffus right you get McIntyres wrong if that makes sense. You need to comprimise the line on both for the best time I'd say. The times I've got McIntyres right are the times where I've had the car straightened under braking and over to the left of the track. Taking duffus at a good rate will always throw you to the right and mess you up.
