Haribo1187
Hi Guys... My name is Andy and from Smokey Town (arbroath).. Just recently bought my first Subaru after many other Jap Cars - The car I bought is Rs Grants old White MY99 PPP - Over the moon with cars handling - power and most of all that Flat Four Thump !!!! Have had a few Jap turbo cars and the Subaru is the most refined by far - Just to appologise myself for those who were dissapointed with the way I was driving the car at Crail last sunday as was mentioned in the post for selling the car I now own.. In the post it explains the logic behind the rough treatment etc. Its just the way I am, the pulsar was launched the same. I appreciate peoples concern about the way I was launching etc however this is just the way I have always been because of my "If It Breaks Uprate It Attitude" - The pulsar was used in the exact same fasion except I had a £1300 Os Giken Clutch fitted. I was hoping if I was ever invited to a meet etc mayb some of you with alot more knowledge and confidence in the way your Subaru operates could give me sum tips etc. This Is the first members club I have ever joined and would really like to be a part of your community. I am very keen on modifying this car to have useable and reliable power above standard - I currently have the Prodrive zorst with a H&S Center Section - However I was looking into changing this. What are you guys opinions on the Blitz Nur Spec System ?? Also would it be possible for yourselves to advise me on what first mods I should make to my car to improve performance... Appreciate All Your Help - Andy Link to comment
craig mac
Welcome Andy You should have come over or a Chin wag on Sunday m8 with the Sheep Squad, We saw the car and we were just laughing about the " Oh what would Grant say" All in jest[] You could not really have missed us standing there as the owner of the biggest Subaru jacket in Britain was there, Simmie[][] And he was wearing it.[] If it were me i would fully de cat it,(possibly GTII headers too) Induction kit, get a fuel pump, regulator, and look in to a slightly bigger turbo, see if you can get an bigger top mount IC as well, then Book yourself in with Andy F. That should do you for a start[] Thats all that has been done to my Prodrive Sti 9.[][*-)] Also a set of Defi's look the dogs and they also keep a close eye on its internal organs, Blood Pressure etc. CraiG Link to comment
st3ph3n
Welcome to the club Andy. There's a good few Crail regulars who I'm sure would be happy to give you some launching tips specific to the Impreza. Keep an eye out on the events section as there's always a lot of meets on the go. Each of the sub-regions of Scotland tend to have one every month. Your nearest would be the tayside region I imagine. JC Scoob is the RO there. He's a bit of a demon at Crail as he was the outright winner at the ultimate car club challenge last month. As far as mods go - The Blitz system is supposed to be VERY loud, but very good. The most obvious and first choice most people would suggest is a full decat, and then a remap to get the best gains out of it. I think the '99 Classic's ECU can be mapped with the ECUTEK reflash, so you can keep the existing ECU rather than fitting something like the Apexi Power FC. It depends on what you want out of the car as to where you stop with the mods. Link to comment
Haribo1187
Thnx For the Reply M8... Yeah I saw a few Subaru owners but was abit shy to cum and have a bull shit. - White Sti and a few silver ones on the track were very impressive. Was well suprised with the power of another MY99 Impreza there, silver running 12s. Just goes to show how quik Subarus can be made. Must of had a few pennies spent on it. Offshore at the mo untill 30th then back home to pay the bill for a full service hahaha - new discs and pads allround - NGK Plugs - Magnicore leads - Oil change - Coolant - Box Oil - Diff Oil - Fuel Filter - Brakes bled and ABS serviced - 4 wheel laser alignment - should run more freely.. Would I not be better just going for a FMIC or TMIC favoured ??? Cheers - Andy Link to comment

philip_wilson
Hello & welcome m8. Andy don't apologise m8 it’s your car you drive it how you like. I postedsaying I seen the car and how I worded it to start with makes it sound worethan it was but saying that I was still [] to see a scoob wheel spinningbefore the start line lol, and anyway I’m the last person to have a dig at howanyone treats there car as I give my wife’s scoob some sh1t [:$]. Right modifying the car and keeping it useable and reliable-[]I’m away to fit a VF35 turbo, fuel pump & Regulator, full decat, STi 7TMIC, 550cc injectors & finished off with a remap with this little lot I’mhoping to get around 300-330 bhp and have been told the standard clutch and boxwill cope with the added power and is a good cheap starting point in the never ending list of mods you can do. RS Grant
Welcome to the club Andy, glad to see you've registered... dont worry about the comments made, everyone's nice and helpful when you meet them. [H] My list of mods for the car I'd recommend (mostly cause its what I've still got sitting for it) were: - TD05 16g Turbo - FMIC & Pipework - SARD Fuel Pressure Regulator - Walboro Fuel Pump (Already Fitted BTW) - Heat Wrapped De-Cat Downpipe - Induction Kit (Apexi) - Was going to get the standard headers Ported & Polished - Standard 99/00 UK ECU to use for re-map (PPP ECU can be sold for around £350 so I'd recommend NOT re-mapping that) I was to be getting the car mapped for reliability and without putting stress on any of the parts I'd fitted or the drivetrain. Andy F told me that I'd see c320bhp and 300ft/lb easily. Which would keep the car reliable, very quick and responsive. Cheers, Grant Link to comment
cullenmin
Welcome to SIDC mate![] No need to be shy at meets or events etc. I just went up and introduced myself to the Aberdeen crowd, in fact I wouldn't hav went up to crail to spend the whole day myself! Mine was the slower of the silver classics, bearing in mind I'm only running 230bhp at the moment! Rich Link to comment
