On my hols on the Isle of Skye at the Skeabost Country House Hotel, near Portree [:P

You'll be pleased to know it is absolutely BELTING down here so sitting in the hotel listening to the rain try to drown out the continuous repetition of Elton Johns' Greatest Hit(s)!!!!  Oh for a thunderstorm!

Some superb roads over here - a Scottish Scoobies holiday would be good [:o]  See you when I get back.

Yeah i think the snakes are at Broadford IIRC... and yeah I like Portree, My other half has Her sister and Mother living up there Staffin and Flodigarry... so have been up a few times now... if you get a chance go over the beiallach (my spellings poop) get just past Staffin and there is a left turn by a sandwich shop?, the road goes right up over the Quriang and over to Uig....

Personally My old scoob loved them!!! And your ok at this time of year, its come the turist season that youve got to worry... tourists have NO CONCEPT of how to use single track roads, and are ganerally pretty dangerous on them....  [:(]

My mother is from Kyle of Lochalsh and until recently my Aunt still lived there before she sadly passed away.

I went up there about 3 times a year.  I loved the drive up and the roads there are great, specially once you get to know them!

The raod from Kyle to Plockton and then Plockton over the mountain to Balmacarra became my favorites.

Will do another trip soon...just thought it would be weird going up and looking for somewhere to stay when I always had the family home before!

How the scooby enjoying the single track roads up there?

Great I would assume - but I was not up in the Scooby - no decent fuel for it.  Just in the door and I had done just over 600 miles so that would have been at least 3 fill-ups in the Impreza with crap fuel [:D]
