wilky Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Cannot remember off the top of my head but if you buy motorsport news on wed there is a place in the adverts in the classified section that does them. people have trouble getting them to seal once the doors are shut so ive read, Callum
DR Motosport Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Advert from the Motorsport News:- "Perspex Windows Airedale Race Components 01423 360456"
corsa Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Make your own, 4mm polycarbonate available from most plastics suppliers.Making sliders too can be fun[]
JohnSt Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Advert from the Motorsport News:- "Perspex Windows Airedale Race Components 01423 360456" He doesn't do them, however they can be bought from Paul @ www.plastics4performance.co.uk/ Problem with making your own for an Impreza is the Frameless windows, flat sheet ain't any good, they need to be formed which is a PITA I might have a set for sale quite soon, bought them from above ---john---
GaryD Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Was gona suggest plastics4performance.co.uk but looks like Ive been beaten to it. I know people that have got perspex windows from them and been very happy with the service etc.
wrxchris Posted October 10, 2006 Author Posted October 10, 2006 not sure about makinmy own, did that a while ago on a pulsar, was a did of a mess!!!
pedals Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Sorry to hijack the thread a bit. Gary, do the people that did your carbon door cards for the polo do them for other cars or is it just VW? Been thinking about carbon door cards for the scoob for a while now. Cheers Pedals
wrxchris Posted October 11, 2006 Author Posted October 11, 2006 its ok matey, carbon door cards eh?? group buy anybody!!
wilky Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 http://www.motordrive.com/acatalog/catalogbody.html These people do them. they are slightly cheaper than the manufacturer as they are an agent. However I would sit down before you look at the prices.
wrxchris Posted October 12, 2006 Author Posted October 12, 2006 thats not all that bad for the carbon door cards!
GaryD Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 The company I used for my carbon door cards are called "All Smiles" think they are only really known in vdub circles, but thats cos the owner, Richard Tweedle is a dub nut. Can get a phone number for anyone that wants it, can be quite expensive tho... think the polo door cards cost a fair bit, cant really remember! But the quality is top notch!
wrxchris Posted October 12, 2006 Author Posted October 12, 2006 yeah heard of thoose guys, would rather spends the money on some more bits and bobs than carbon door cards, it has to be said!
GaryD Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 My polo is a fully loaded, show/track car... and is now on a weight saving mission, hence the carbon door cards, think there is very little else to change on it []
