sti intercooler for a classic??

Recommended Posts

i have a 99 classic turbo and was wondering if there would be any benefit from fitting an intercooler from a sti car.  are there any gains to be had? is it a more efficient piece of kit than the standard classic intercooler?  views much appreciated? oh mods on my car so far are just panel filter and full decat exhaust with remap coming soon. cheers.

The STi one is more efficient than the standard UK one, the easiest one to fit would be a STi5 / P1 intercooler as they are a direct bolt on. If you have got a bit of time and knowhow or a mate in the engineering buisness you could get a newage STi intercooler and have brackets made to get it to fit.

Another good mod to do would be to get an APS inner wing induction kit or similar but DONT fit it till just before you get the car mapped and DONT drive the car on boost on the way to get it mapped as up to 60% (I think) of the air passing the MAF sensor can go un metered possibly melting a piston or two, but once it has been mapped you will certanly feel the difference!!!!!!!!!

Ps. dont be giving your car any beans BEFORE you get it mapped even with the de-cat or something bad may happen!!!

Hope some of this helps
