Hi All,

Have a bit of cash burning a hole in my pocket, so was wondering what would be the best "upgrade" to sling in my Newage WRX

Have already got a Magnex 5" exhaust system and BOV, so what else would you guys/gals recommend?

Looking at spending approx 400 bucks.

Cheers..

By exhuast system do you mean full decat, turbo back, cat back or just a backbox?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if I was getting a WRX again it'd drive from the dealers to a garage to get the whiteline droplinks and a proper geometery geometery setup done straight away. Changes the car beyond belief.

That's a "cat-back" exhuast then, which means you still have the three cats in place - uppipe, downpipe and the catpipe.

You can get rid of the 3rd cat for about £100 (Gus the bus can get you one, that's who I got mine from) and you don't have to worry about remapping then. Removing any of the other two you'll have to start looking at mapping. It would give you a wee bit more power and torque. My car made 248.5bhp and 232lb/ft of torque with 3rd cat removed, miltek centre section and H+S backbox.

BUT! I'd take the handling mods any day of the week. Droplinks fitted and prodrive geometery settings dialled in should cost you well under £200, and they are fantastic.

I would go for :-

decat downpipe  £180 or so

anti-roll bar & drop links £155 on the Scoobynet Demon tweaks group buy

Pretty soon after that i would get a remap and geometry settings tweaked

You can read about my recent mods in here which will be on a par with what you'lll be doing if you take the route above.

and here's another update :-
