Hi Paul,

I don't think the file size matters too much, but I guess the smaller the better for peeps with dialup. As for size, 640px wide is best as they show up better in all monitors (i.e. no horizontal scrollbars)

Got it now mate...when I reduce the size to 640....the file size reduces accordingly so I dont have to compress as much and lose quality which was my issue...

thanks mate

Z1000 - I use Paintshop Pro for all image work...not sure how to do it without an image editing programme.

Paul, I am not too sure of upload limit, I don't use this method for uploading photos.

z1000, I use photoshop to resize my photos before uploading them, but any similar graphics package should work.

Here's samples of different file sizes..

The original was "1600x1200". Re-size your photos to suit and save them on your desktop, so that you keep the original as was and is easy to find if you use a host to upload pics.

I'd say best size for most is "800x600" as you can see the detail without being too big for most monitors especially things like rolling road graphs etc.

I hate it when pics are posted too large cause you have to scroll to read replies.

I use www.tinypic.com for hosting pics cause you don't need to register to use, just browse your computer and let them host it.

Or you could make the 640 a thumbnail to the larger version. Just do your usual [ i m g ] stuff, hightlight if then select the "Create Link" button createlink.gif and insert the link to the full size, keeping the page neat and tidy [Y]

All I'd say about picture resizing is make sure you have the button ticked that keeps the aspect ratio the same so it doesn't go all pixely and broken.

I'm running 1600x1200 monitor here, so any size is good with me. [:D]
