nkwrx Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Hello all, am about to buy first mod for the car. Front splitter in fact and both Revolution and Scott Lowe now have what sounds like the same part for MY2006 WRX, with Revolution being a bit cheaper. Anyone recomend which one to go for, price aside? Revolution also have a lower mesh grille kit but not too sure about it as the web pic isn't that great. Cheers Kevan.
ANDYJDMSTI Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 6 of one half a dozen of the other.............both are good outfits. Personnally, i would go for Scott as i have dealt with him afew times and always had first class service. He also has the lower mesh but not sure if it is for your year car. Give him a bell and ask him.
st3ph3n Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Scott Lowe for me too. Mudflaps, bonnet struts, splitter and rear wing all came from him
thefastone Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Bl00dy nora!!!! Just checked out the price of those mudflaps... 150!!!!! [] thats MENTAL money.... Sure I saw them cheaper somewhere.... Hmmmm..... somehting for later perhaps....
nkwrx Posted September 13, 2006 Author Posted September 13, 2006 Thanks for the advice folks, I'll give Scott Lowe a phone tomorrow. Kevan
st3ph3n Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Remember the 10% SIDC discount. Dale, the mudflaps are still half the price of genuine subaru parts!

peter_macgowan Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Hi I have an 06 and bought the splitter from Revolution, add £20 for delivery onto the price. Im not sure how much Scott Lowe charges. I got the splitter about 2 weeks ago and struggled to fit it. Even the local subaru garage had a go and it had to be bent quite a bit for it to fit. I sent it back and Revolution are sending out a new one. When the got the splitter I sent back they fitted it to thier own 06 and it fitted ok. Seemingly you have to bend it a bit to fit. There are 3 plastic studs 6 in total on the corners of the the bumper, fit them first then screw in the rest of the splitter. You will have to drill at least half a dozen holes into the bumper to get it to fit correctly. Both splitters are the same apart from a revolution badge on one and STI on the other. The choice is yours.
st3ph3n Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 The scott lowe one was drilled to match the holes in the bumper and fitted very easily.
craig mac Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Or the HT Auto one.......£120 painted matt black due this week[] From the Scoobynet[:$] (dont like swearing) group buy. Craig
ARM Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 i am awaiting my front splitter for my 06 sti, its on route so i should be fitting it this weekend. I will let you know how i get on. Cant fault scott at all, not used revolution before so cant comment there!
nkwrx Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 Thanks for the advice everyone. ARM, look forward to hearing how you get on. Peter, that sounds like a lot of effort for what I thought should be fairly straightforward mod, thats partly why I chose it as my first or is this just the nievety of the novice? Cheers Kevan
fai17 Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Have you try the one from Subaru? That's nice too[]
ANDYJDMSTI Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Took me 30 mins to put my carbon one on from scott. easy as hell, gotta drill a couple of holes on the existing bumper but you get all the instructions with it.
