allan_browne Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Hi All,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> My girlfriend [] has an R reg Vauxhall Vectra (Petrol) and it seems as though it keeps "missing" when you are driving it, I was going to take out the plugs and give them a clean but you cant get into them, is there any budding mechanic in the Glenrothes area who would like to take a look and fix the problem, it's not causing a great problem, more annoying than anything, or if anyone knows what the problem might be? Any help, much appreciated, Cheers..
jonnyb80 Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 could be plugs and leads mate when u put ur foot down does it hold bk for a few sec's then go
allan_browne Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 Hi Jonn, I would not say as such that it holds back, you notice it more driving about the town in 3rd/4th gear, you dont really notice it at higher speeds, only during slower speeds is it more noticeable. [] Cheers..
jonnyb80 Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 oh right i had the same problem with my escort round town when u put ur foot down there was nothing for a few secs then it went i had 2 get new leads and plugs mate well i tryed them and it sorted the problem
st3ph3n Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I had a Y reg Vectra and it developed a problem very much like that when a sensor in the engine died. It was running very rich too and you could get a real whif of petrol of it. Dealer hooked it up to a monitor, diagnosed what sensor and replaced it for me and all was well.
shugo Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Sound like crank sensor is on its way out very comon problem on vectras think its about £70 incl fitting at curtis motors
allan_browne Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 Hi Shugo, Thanks for that, might give curtis a buzz on that one, still hoping there is a "budding" mechanic who would give it a quick look over and give me a better idea of what exactly could be the problem.[] Cheers..
