thefastone Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Got my new CG-Lock today, not long to arrive, and I recived the group buy rate that expired a few weeks or so ago... well happy about that.... and I've fitted it to the shed to see what its like.... I have to say that I'm impressed, It does give a much more accurate feel for the car and the road, corners have just got more fun! Only one minor.... point/design flaw.... and I'm sure others that have it might say the same thing... I find that If I have it in the unlocked position, then the clip can come off very easily and it can be a bit fiddley to unlock too... Not too much of a big deal like, as it justmeans that I can't have it unlocked properly whils I'm dtiving... just have it slack then theres no problems... all in all.... 7 out of 10, I'm a happy man... []
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I have one too. You really notice how much it holds you in place at Knockhill. You spend less effort holding yourself in place and more effort steering etc. I always haul mine tight on B-road blasts too [] For value for money they cannot be beaten ! Cheers Cal
thefastone Posted September 7, 2006 Author Posted September 7, 2006 Oh yeah, I'm looking forward to the run up to work tomorrow morning now... Oh and do you find that problem with the clip falling off or is it just me being a loon....? Like I say not a big deal, but I'm interested to hear otheres experience of theses wonderfull little devices.....
st3ph3n Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 The clip is a bit fidgety when set on loose mode.
scoobaroo Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 The C G Lock is an excellent little device which helps you concentrate on the driving, while it holds you firmly in the driving seat [Y] It can be a tad fiddley to start with, but once you get used to it, its no problem. A1 product [Y]
STi_Bandit Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I bought mine of Brian (Wrxmania) plus free fitting lol, and i have to say its an excellent piece of kit, i was a bit sceptable about the claims it made but now that ive got one have to say its all true. Used to find myself rolling about the seats in the car but with the c-g lock now installed iam no longer moving. I did find however when you do loosen the click to unlock mode it tends to come off and is fiddley to try and get back on when driving :-) Bandit
craigwrx Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Been thinking about getting one myself, was getting advice at the RR day reference this []
thefastone Posted September 7, 2006 Author Posted September 7, 2006 Definitely well worth getting, although when you call them mate, make sure you mention that your a SIDC member, and ask if the SIDC group buy offer still stands... every litte helps and all that... [y] Ok so its not Me with the clip falling off... lol like you say, I think once I get used to it, I prollly wont notice... []
st3ph3n Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I have mine locked at all times. How tight it is depends on what kind of mood I'm in.
graham_cox Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Glad to see the great feedback on this amazing little device. Yeah the slide bar does sometimes become loose. We found most people (including myself) keep the slider bar fully on...just using the lever to loosen and a pull on the seatbelt (shoulder section) to tighten. This is how we find most folks get to reap the benefits of the CG-Lock without any lost sliders! Hope this helps! Regards Graham CG-Lock team PS group buy offer closes at end of this month so do please tell your colleagues to get one (or two) at the great discounted SIDC price of £35 each. Thanks!
thefastone Posted October 13, 2006 Author Posted October 13, 2006 Ah yeah thats what I tend to do with it just keep it on permanatly, much easier... although I had the slide pop off again the other week, just as I was pulling it tight, but after finding said bar, I found that a pair of pliers and a small amount of brute force solved the issue..... [] All in all still well happy.... And whats this? the group buy is extended again.... []
