Powersteering pump probs

[:'(] Went for a wee drive last night and when i pulled up powersteering was making a racket.Topped fluid up now but still squealing and forcing fluid out of  resevoir!! Do the pumps just give up or could it be something else.How much would i expect to pay cos i need it fixed for the fife run...help! []

Put a new one on mine and it done the same. got it replaced by T/C Perth the guy said they are a real bitch to blead and if not done right they just knacker up .

Its a common fault on classics, my old wagons started leaking and caused the steering to go heavy then light during cornering. I got a 2nd hand pump that turned out to be knackered and in the end it cost me more than buying a new one in the first place[]

Unfortunately they arent cheap, and to make matters worse my type r has now started getting wonky feeling steering on left turns! goes heavy then light under load at lowish speeds.
