Anyone got a guide on installing rear strut brace?

Well I'm beaten. Couldn't get the third bolt off the strut tops. Couldn't get the seat belt tensioner off to give me access to it. So an hour and a half spent removing and reinstall the rear seats basically. Great fun.

I did one Friday. 35mins tops.............including removing the seats! Seatbelt tensioner is a 14mm bolt but the frame it is on has anipple on the front side of it that sits 30mm into the pillar.

You need to remove the bolt and then move the tensioner 30mm towards the front of the car B4 it comes free!

A good worker never blames his tools.

Luckily for me I'm not a good worker [:o]

I couldn't get the 14mm bolt on the tensioner free. I've not got full strength back in my right hand yet after injuring my wrist, and my socket set isn't so good so couldn't get the leverage required.

Plus I lost my cool and then gave up. I'd already spent the morning trying to remove my mudflaps to move them higher to stop the scraping. I couldn't get one of those bolts out as it just kept turning, so I just cut the damn things instead. Job's a goodun.

Done that myself recently mate ...bloody awkward when they are still on the car ...

When I got the first one almost off I actually looked at the second set of mounting holes and knew I was still going to get scraping, so when the last bolt simply wouldn't come out then I decided that cutting was the only way.

Ended up using a crayon and a ruler to mark a line then attackign them with some secateurs. Looks alright, but there is no scraping at all, which is great!
