sma01 Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 that is a stunning looking car.....if only had a spare £50k.... scott
st3ph3n Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Scott if you had a spare 50K you could build this car and have plenty left over to spend on anything you wanted. It was posted on general and the cars are in the current Banzai. 06 Spec C, Porsche RS style paint scheme (doesn't work for me), average-ish wheels with a powder coat and R888 rubber, fairly standard modifications - miltek decat and piper induction plus the ecutek remap, full cage, AST coilovers + whiteline gear, AP brakes. £27K for the car from litchfields leaves £23K for mods. Good value? Me thinks not.
sma01 Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 fair point stephen, to be fair dont think i could spend that sort of money on a scoob again, next car will be something which will be staying standard....like the look of the car though, paint work totally different... scott
craigwrx Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Was reading the article only the other day in Banzai, personally i was not that impressed ...basically ...stickers, full roll cage, and 360bhp for 23k !! ...way way to much money for that.
derek_robertson Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 I took these shots at JAE last month, competition spec fully welded in cage, comp seats, carbon door cards & floorguards, suspension, brakes etc etc.Your 23k isn't long in adding up,think of the man hours alone just to weld in a cage & then paint it. It's the labour that hikes the price of these cars, not the parts. If anyone was building one for theirself then obviously if they had the skills then it would be cheaper.Try to remember that this is a business & that they need to make a profit to survive. Just my 2 pennethworth[][]
craigdmcd Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 A full welded in cage to WR spec can be done properly for around 15K (price for a classic shape - not newage), and this includes taking off the sills and all the other Gucci bits that make a proper Prodrive shell special. I would doubt that this has this done, and whilst I see your point Scoobay, I think most people could build something better for a total of 50K. This is just for dotcom richkids with bottomless pockets who wouldn't know where to start on a project like this.
john mac Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Check that number plate out ,how cool is that , and probably worth about 10k or more of the overall price. Very nice car but i would be choking to spend that on an impreza, unless it was in full rally trim with a spec to match the price tag.
higgy Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 It's got more carbonfiber than most space rockets!!!!!!!!!!! very nice indeed. Higgy
