SEEVERS Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Can anyone explain to me what a clay bar actually does as i have never used one before...? Chers all. Del.
RA Dunk Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 ive only used it once , from what i saw it removes all the little bits of grit tar and bits of s**t thats stuck to the paint , all the rough bits you usually find behind the wheels can usually be removed with clay bar but be careful how you use it as you can end up making a mess of yer paint job
z1000 Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Comes with a bottle of detailer to spray on and its fine and easy to use as long as you keep the paintwork wet. I was amazed how much difference it made for how little effort.
RA Dunk Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 BE WARNED , if you drop the clay on the ground when your using it chuck it in the bin right away , what will happen is if it makes contact with the ground little bits of s**t will stick to it and when you use it again the little bits of S***t thats stuck to it will make a mess of your paint ie/ lots os swirls and scratches
jcscoob Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Got one not used it yet, but have a wee swatch here http://www.autopia-carcare.com/inf-clay.html
st3ph3n Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Del - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/guides_clean.html The guy that owns PB is from Aberdeen and was at the SIDC day up at Alford. A few of the guys have bought stuff from him and he posts a lot in the car care section over at SN. Spoke to his wife up at Alford and she gave me some good advice.
wrxmania Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Where can I buy a clay bar tomorrow morning...? Might do Julie's car tomorrow afternoon - it needs clay bar'd before I put the Klasse/Carlack 68 on it & some proper wax. Brian []
