creationracing Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Hi guys, Just want to extend a big massive huge thanks to all the SIDC members who turned up at our Autocross today and donned the yellow marshalling bibs. The event was praised by everyone and without you guys, it would either not have been run or run in a much curtailed format. Hopefully you guys had a good day out, and I do apologise for forgetting to thank you all formally in the closing announcement!!! If there is anything our club can do to return the favour to you guys, please do not hesitate to let me know. Am already going to request our webmaster put your link on our club site and try to mention you in our media coverage, but if you have any ideas just shout! Until then, I hope you all enjoyed your day and maybe got inspired to give it a go yourselves!!!! Kindest Regards and thanks once again, on behalf of Stonehaven & District Motor Club, Roy Kemp PS, Any piccies? Stick them up!!!! []
kloon Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 No worries Roy, was a bit of a long and dusty day, still getting the sand out of my lugs and the top of my heid is a tad sunburnt ! Very enjoyable form of motorsport that, the variation in cars was a pleasant surprise and they were certainly giving it some stick and like you said, the temptation to give it a go got greater as the day went on. Some of the other lads should have pics to put up. Oh aye, and cheers for the free burger, though in some folks cases it was "burgers" []
philip_wilson Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Your welcome Roy. It was a good day out and some good racing. I have a few pic's I'll post later on. Philip_w
zeolite Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Yeah thanks a lot guys. Without marshals we competitors wouldn't get the opportunity to beat the hell out of our cars [] Broken bumper, dodgy gear linkage, cracked inner wing and mine was still going at the end. No rolls for you unusually but plenty of action. So who is up for next Sunday at Inchture?
philip_wilson Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 So who is up for next Sunday at Inchture? I would love to help out guys, but I'm taking the wife out next weekend. Philip_w
kloon Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Unfortunately me neither, going to Fintray next week.

creationracing Posted August 7, 2006 Author Posted August 7, 2006 Just wondering how long it will be until a couple of SIDC members club together and buy a cheap Legacy or early Impreza (or even a 4WD Justy!) and have a crack themselves... Team SIDC perhaps...? Would be good to see!

zeolite Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 If you want some help or parts for a crosser just let me know guys. I have bits and I have the knowledge. []
RA Dunk Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 yea your car did look among the quickest of them today , did you come top of yer group?
RA Dunk Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 you looked a fair bit quicker than him , thought the MX looked pretty f****d towards the end []
zeolite Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Yeah. The track got slower as it got cut up. Some serious holes to fall in and huge piles of dirt to get bogged down. The first run was the one that counted and the MX-6 was 8 secs faster than me and 5 secs faster than Foz. The stopwatch never lies.
craig mac Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Not the Infamaous Mike Connan in said MX-6 was it?[] Shockeroonie Craig
craigwrx Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Was looking at the pics in another thread, it sure does look like fun. Would have gone this weekend for sure, but alas its my weekend on at work.
