Bonding agent ?

Recommended Posts

Lads/Lasses, got a new Spoiler arriving from Scoobyworld soon and was wondering what bonding agent to use to fix it at the middle of the boot ? I'll be anchoring it using the existing points at either end but also want to fix it at the middle but don't fancy drilling new holes.

Hi Mate.....

I can get you a tube of adhesive/sealant that will do the job. I've sold adhesives and abrasives for around 16 years now so would hope to be in a position to help on  this one.....

Failing that if you dont want to wait on me pop down to the local motor factors....and try to get something along the lines of sika 252. I wont bore you with the details of the benefits of MS Polymers of Polyurethanes......so go for the sika or I can supply you with a tube of Soudal 240FC which is ideal for the job available in  310ml cart in black or white...fits a standard caulking gun......Make sure the surfaces are clean....apply..wipe of excess quickly and wait to cure......simple eh

PM  me if you need any furter information

Okay dokey

Paul

Cheers for that Paul,  I'll have a look for what you mention and failing that i'll get some stuff from you, like I said, just don't fancy drilling holes. [:D]

Aye been a bit quiet on the posting front, no excuses to be fair, think that spoiler is the one i have but around that style they are all similar looking so not sure , will it be colour coded or will you have to get it painted up ?

Aye got it colur coded, so hopefully just be a case of off with the old, on with the new. Pretty sure it's identical to yours as well or in that vein anyway. The Autocross event is on all day, if you don't fancy the early start nip down later on.

As PaulC555 said earlier on on this thread, Sika, Soudal or an adhesive that we used to use called Purflex would be ideal. As long as the surfaces are clean and dry, either of these can be used by putting either product into a 'shite gun' and apply to the area needing bonded and wait 24 hours. If you can't get hold of any of these items drop me a PM and i'll post you up a tube.

Craig.
