bryan_taylor Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Had a wee drive doon the Boully last night, and I've driven doon there a couple 'o' times in the past. I've been hearing the polis/Cooncil are looking at ways to try and curb the "anti-social behaviour" displayed by the numerous "chavs". I consider myself to be somewhat of a "chav" albeit in a much subtler sense i.e. I don't wear burberry and I don't have undercar lights and all that other b0llocks [], but I like the occasional blast and like showing off my car (but not in any situation where it's dangerous[N]). So from the point of view of standing on the moral highground I'm kind of in the midle somewhere[^o)]. We all like to show off our cars, we all like to blip the peddle now and again and have a bit of fun, so I can to some small degree understand why the Boully is frequented by "chavs". So the question(s) I'm asking are these:- 1. Do you think the "chavs" should be banned from the Boully and this area policed/blocked in some way as to discourage it being frequented by the "chavs"? 2. Would it be cool/acceptable if there was an area set aside where police/public turned a blind eye (within reason) to "chav" activities and they (or we - LOL) were free to have a bit of a blast/cruise/general meet? 3. Should all Vauxhaul Corsa's [au]that are "chavved up" be destroyed, along with their owners?[][][6] LOL - all to be taken in good humour of course!
philip_wilson Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 I personally think its sad that anyone would want to bouley bash, okay there is a very few people that go to socialize but then you have theother 99% that are chav’s and take the pi55 by racing up and down at stupidspeed in 30 & 15 mph zones, so yes I think the chav’s should be banned fromthe area. As for the area set aside, the council and police allowed car groupsto use the ground at the AECC, I’m not sure if this still happens as said chav’stended to spoil it by well being chav’s. I still say if you want to really use your carsgo to Crail or Knockhill and this way it saves innocent people getting knockedover and kill like wants happened before in the past down the bouley. But eachto there own I say. Philip-w

G.Mac Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 3 for deff, and esp any Novas that have not rotted away yet. Even when I was a younger "Chav" myself I still used to hate these cars!!!! We have "Chave havens" down our way like Strathclyde Country park, but I have not been for yrs since a Buckie bottle nearly hit the car[:@] Graeme
iain_ogston Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 What you do with a car is personal preference. Personally I bought my car to drive it on the open road. Not to sit around showing everyone how loud my new 6x9s and bass box can play Britney Spears tunes (actually I don't even have rear speakers fitted). My engine has been completely rebuilt and tuned but not so I can sit down the beach revving it, chatting about the "tone" of my exhaust and wasting optimax at a pound a litre. But thats my personal opinion. I'm not interested in the cruising scene. However, I know some young guys who spend nearly their entire wage on cars or mods. Some drive new model EVOs, some old Corsas etc. with "mods". And they like to show them off (however crap we might think they are). So they need somewhere to meet and do it. The problem with the booly is that the cruisers sit next to the populated area - the new Stewarty Mile flats and the road up to them. If they sat up on the beach front (the road heading out from the ballroom) nobody would give a toss since they would be out of earshot of everyone. If they get moved on from there then they will congregate somewhere else just shifting the problem. As for chav mobiles being destroyed, taste was never part of the MOT........ Oh and I'm told by the youngsters that having a nice motor is the way to secure the Chavette of your dreams......
Boyakasha Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 I wouldn't go near the bouley, you never know what the people are like. Most folk that go there are interested in cars but you will get the odd person who is more interested in what's in your car if you get what I mean [] My other halfs brother used to go there years ago, one night he took her car down and in the morning the cars stereo was gone. So you never know who to trust. It's true what they say about folk complaining, it only started when they built the new flats/hotel, now it seems to be a big issue compared to when it was all council houses [8-)]
thefastone Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Right enough I think the whole situation is poop, The only reason that things have been kicking off like they have is because of the flats that have just been built, its nothgin to do with the hotel, they dont even notice them most of the time.... but yeah, I think that the people that have lashed out all that money to buy those flats have NO RIGHT to complain about the boully bashers, its like buying a house next to an airfield and complaining about the airplanes or going to a swimming pool and complaining that its wet in there... if you dont like it then dont move there, better still, dont build houses there... What does get me though, Is that, if you move them on from there, where are they going to go? safe to say that they are not going to go away, it just means that you are going to inflict them on someone else that didn't buy a house anywhere near where they are for a reason... Now dont get me wrong, I'm not a ned and I never have been, But live and let live, as much as they should be put down and there cars crushed... its what they do... also, the other point about closing that road is that it will increase the traffic by something like 2000% on the surrounding roads which is just mental.... I have been down there once in a while, More when the EastsideVW guys are out normally just for a natter, mainly to catch up with my bro, most of those guys are not in anyways into there distastefull mods, but like you say there is the big contingent that are the fools...
kloon Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Ahhh the Bouley, many a good night was had down there, alas totally ruined by the chavmobile brigade and the "ramraid at Halford's" sheds they call cars. Demolish that f*ckin Hotel and bring back the tram lines !!
thefastone Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 The Patio Hotel is a bit of a paradox as it happens, its really nice inside, but its a total abortion outside.... Its also My mothers work...
eddiec Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 RA95 has a good point if they were moved onto the beach front noboby would give a toss as its so far from any houses. i believe that one of the problems with that is the lack of lighting so if the cooncil really want the easy way out all they need to do is stick in a dozen street lights along past the swimming pool and get the polis to "encourage" them to congegate along there. Closing the road is a non starter because of the traffic problems that will create in the surrounding side streets. The b*ggers were starting to use the park and ride car park at BoD which is next to me but the nice mannie at the cooncil has taken to locking the gates there at night to keep them oot.
herbie Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Got to say im guilty of having a cruise up and down the boulley sometimes [:$]
