bigdavie Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 i have a brand new never been fitted walbro if you want ??
RS Grant Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 If it were me and I was trying to keep the mods on the subtle/low side but still going for a custom re-map then I'd look at a larger capacity TMIC in addition to your shopping list. I would also uprate the brakes and suspension, power is nothing without control... and the ability to stop once you've run out of space to use the loud pedal is a BIG advantage. [] Cheers, Grant
bigdavie Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 yeah i'd agree with that !! i have a 99 too and its on its baws on teins with a goodridge brake swap with 5.1 fluid ! and a 2002 wrx intercooler on mine with a previous remap ! and i reckon it's reasonably quick !! holds the road well and stopping could be better but am hoping my new pagid discs will go some way to improving this hth ! edit btw i was informed i wouldnt need an fpr because my car was a 99 !!
philip_wilson Posted July 31, 2006 Author Posted July 31, 2006 Uprated brakes and suspension is last on the list I think, for nowI'm happy sticking with the Ferodo race pads and the handling it pretty good. Iwas thinking about a TMIC but I'm not after bit bhp at this stage just at bigmore then the 251 bhp it's got just now and build it up till I'm happy if that’s possible.
philip_wilson Posted July 31, 2006 Author Posted July 31, 2006 btw i was informed i wouldnt need an fpr because my car was a 99 !! I will leave the FPR of the list for just now I think then.
drb5 Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 If uprating the pump, i suggest you get an FPR...regardless of year. The pump on it's own CAN actually have the engine use to much fuel. The regulator just simply can't cope with the extra amount of fuel. For all the extra money for the FPR, i'd get one.
