rabskyline Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 seen an ecu for sale and its a 200 model, just wondered if i could fit it on my car and then get it mapped ?
flat4phil Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 I don't think you can. Thought you were to get an Apexi Power FC big bucks jobbie? Or maybe there is an Ecutek implant board you can install, then enjoy all the mapping you want?
johnnyr6 Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Technically you can but you'd need the loom and prob some sensors from the 2000 car (not cheap or easy). your options are either apexi or just to up boost a little a chip upgrade but these are getting rare as pfc's are getting so reasonable.
rabskyline Posted July 30, 2006 Author Posted July 30, 2006 trying to avoid the big money stuff just now and i had a look inside my own ecu as i had heard o fthe vos chip which is a chip that goes onto the board in a spare port but mine has no spare port that i can see !. so wondered if there were other options open to me in the swap and remap area?
flat4phil Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 Rab - there was a chap on (dare I say it ) ebay who advertised upgrade maps and chips sets for the earlier Classics. He sounds genuine and had a healthy 'seller ID' score: 114 (that was back in January this year). Look for s_taylor or ScoobyECU (I think that was his id on scoobynet.co.uk . Or you could try www.scoobyecu.co.uk - I know nowt about the fella or his products - but certainly he had advertised what appeared to be very well researched ecu upgrades, seemed to know his Impreza's and wasn't asking 'after market tuning-shop' money either.
