...how much ball-ache is it to modify an STi8 intercooler to fit a late UK Classic Turbo??

Am I just as well going for a FMIC Kit, because they seem to be the same price (pre-mods on the V8 TMIC) and bolt straight up. Only problem with this is, I still run a wee stock TD04 and I'm not sure how it would drive/perform with the FMIC on there...... That leads me onto a Turbo-replacement?!

Its true, once you buy your first mod.. you cant stop buying mods!! [;)]

Had this very conversation with Bill at Greersport and he said the STi 8 dont fit much better to go for a FMIC probably not much in the price either. Obviously the best thing to do would be to have a front intake for the hoses so they dont have to be about three feet long, with the associated lagg.[;)]

Grant, just get a newage WRX ic, as they are plenty cheap and you only need to modify the brackets to get it to fit ok...maybe the inlet plenum too, but it should be ok on your year or car.

With an FMIC, you'd prolly need to get a remap, otherwise it would drive kinda laggy, but the top mount would be fine.

yeah i have ricey's old 2002 wrx intercooler on at the mo straightforward job although i am still running about wi only one bracket still !!

[:$] but it does the job and makes a noticable difference

Got the DV ok mate... Think it needs a service pack to free it up though, its pretty quiet?? [:D]

Think I'm gonna go for a FMIC when £££ and supporting mods are around..

Grant
