RS Grant Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 ......fit an open neck, heat wrapped de-cat downpipe on a MY99 PPP'd Classic without a re-map and it to be safe?? Cheers, Grant
spooks Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 may experiance overboost but should be fine, best results with remap obviously
frank c Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 I ran mine for a while but i knew i was getting it mapped 8 weeks later.. Sorry can't help more Frank
Carl Davey Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 My fridge did 260bhp twice with a full de-cat and absolutely no map what so ever. It also blew up within that period lol. [] Seriously, i'd go ahead and fit it. I'd only have it mapped if i'd changed injectors/turbo/ECU or gone to a vastly different intercooler. £550 for your ECUTek licence + map makes it a very expensive downpipe!
RS Grant Posted July 29, 2006 Author Posted July 29, 2006 Ok, I am leaning towards fitting it now... I shall let you guys know what the outcome is. [] Cheers, Grant
col666 Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 I completely de-catted my old uk wagon, uprated fuel pump, regulator, dump valve etc and ran it for 2 years with no remap, overfuelled like mad but never had any probs and its still going strong to this day!
RS Grant Posted July 29, 2006 Author Posted July 29, 2006 My car has a 255 on it, but the Regulator is sitting in my garage waiting to be fitted... Did you raise the fuelling via the regulator to make it over-fuel like a beehatch then Col?? Cheers, Grant
RA Dunk Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Grant , i fitted a decat D/P uprated fuel pump and FPR last month and im running fine , with no remap! a bit like Cols story lol [] So this is at least two of us never had no probs
col666 Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 A garage fitted all the bits, they messed about with the fuelling but couldnt get it running perfect. I was quite happy though cos it pulled like a train and the flamer kit worked great what with all the juice pouring out the exhaust!! ran it on normal unleaded 90% of the time too! fuel consumption was horrific but it made 315bhp on the rollers at Dastek[]
