flat4phil Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Am I expecting too much? Does anyone use any more localised talent to tweak/ remap their GEM's ecu's. Andy Forrest suggested Dastek, are there any others about in the North East? Thanks in advance.
G.Mac Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 talke to FAI17, he should be getting his tweeked as we speak by a guy that comes up from Englandshire Graeme
flat4phil Posted July 27, 2006 Author Posted July 27, 2006 Okay - thanks, I'll wait for fai17 to come along or I'll pm the man.
A11YKF Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 I know a guy in cawdor who owns Bitz garage i think he has gems ecus on the scooby rally cars hes got pretty sure he tunes them himself i can find out if you like.
flat4phil Posted July 28, 2006 Author Posted July 28, 2006 FAB! That would be much appreciated, even if just to discover who, where and so on, but it would also be very useful to be able to know what map my car is running and whether it needs a tweak or three?! Thank you
fai17 Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 I use a guy call P.Marks......but you would need to come down to Greersport(near Beith) to get it mapped He's to come back up to map my car with the new goodies on soon.
flat4phil Posted July 28, 2006 Author Posted July 28, 2006 Fai 17, many thanks for the info. Obviously depending on time spent - but typically what sort of cost does this chap command? I assume Dastek don't have a GEM's wizard then?[]
harvey_smith Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 You could try Steve Simpson from TEG Sport. Well known for GEMS also building rally cars and competing in them. 01524 733837 they also have their own ECU launched recently with lots of features including anti lag etc. Very competitive.
flat4phil Posted July 28, 2006 Author Posted July 28, 2006 It's a 'Steve Simpson' map that I'm running at the mo'. No real problems with the whole kit - but I don't know the map and it could well be that a tweak or two improves matters no end. Thanks for the reply though.
flat4phil Posted July 31, 2006 Author Posted July 31, 2006 Hey hey, just had confirmation back from Simon Bower at Japerformance in Ellon - He can remap my GEM's implant [] Excellent news so I thought I'd share the info just incase others up here have the need.
