O/T Any fridge engineers on here

Its an integrated under counter freezer and when you open the door the leading edge facing me along the top and down the two sides is hot to touch.

 

Just concearned my ice cream may not be icy for much longer.

Any help gratefully recived.

sounds like the heat exchanger is having a hard time mate if its in an enclosed space pull it out if possible and check it doesnt just need cleaned hth

I have worked as a refrigeration engineer for 12 years .

Door seals on most integeral commercial freezers are heated to prevent them sticking shut .

They can feel warm/hot to touch - this is normal.

Check that the condenser is clean and the fan is running , and you have good airflow over the condenser.

Check that the compressor is running and not cycling on/off .

Check that the door-seals are not damaged .

Check that there is not a build-up of ice inside restricting airflow in the cabinet.

In this hot weather with  high Rh (relative humidity ) anything that could impede performance will .
